A wildland firefighter/fire ecologist, I have a rather unique skillset. I know most of the websites appropriate jobs are posted, but few of them have email alerts or rss feeds. Is there any way to stay abreast of new postings without going to each site every week? [more inside]

I need a new job, and I need one by the end of the year, because I'm very close to walking out of the one I have now. Help me, hive mind, as I'm at my wits end. What the hell can I do that's in Philadelphia, doesn't require a car, isn't sales, and pays around $30k? [more inside]

I'm a senior web content producer (the chap who figures out what content should be on a website, and sometimes writes it) in London, but I'd love to be in New York (or any other major urban area in the United States).
Can you recommend any recruiters who specialise in this field and who might be able to help me? Bonus points for New York ones, as I'll be there in mid June. [more inside]

I have not worked since April 2005 due to bipolar disorder but my mood has been better lately and I want to use next year to get myself ready for returning to work, maybe even actually getting a job if that's possible. However I have had three years of depression - lying in bed listening to music all day or surfing the net, getting no exercise, eating junk foods. I feel my mind has turned a bit mushy and that if I was to start in a job tomorrow I would shortly end up the way I was before I left my last one (feeling overwhelmed, paralysed into inactivity, sometimes just staring blankly at my PC monitor). I feel I have a great deal of intertia to overcome. Has anyone been in a similar situation, and what's the best way to proceed? [more inside]

I am 38, living in Scotland, and after 3 years out of the workforce due to bipolar disorder will be soon able to work again. I would love to work in marketing since I find the subject fascinating, especially marketing communications, and in fact I got a B.A. in marketing way back in 1991.
How credible is a 38 year old candidate will little directly relevant experience, putting aside the long gap from the workplace? I worry that companies with entry-level positions will automatically want to fill them with shiny new graduates, but my positive side thinks "its only too late if I don't start now" and if I got a start I could progress quite quickly. If you have any experience in marketing, or even if you don't, any ideas about how to get a start would be very useful. [more inside]

I'm stagnating.
I'm a 23 year old guy in the UK, I'm back living with my parents, having spent fours years away studying, then working in one of the most excellent (but underpaid) jobs I could have ever imagined. I've been back for quite a while now and want a job that differs from the reams of sales, and typical office jobs I have to trawl through on most general job sites.
So, where can I find an 'atypical' job? [more inside]
