What to do about a broken tooth away from my insurance area?

I'm visiting my partner's family in Southern Oregon for the next ~3 weeks. Last night, I broke a tooth (my first molar, lower right). I have insurance in Minnesota via the state exchange, but I haven't been able to find anyone here who takes it, or who is willing to talk about it after they find out I have free insurance. I probably need a crown, but is there some temporary procedure I could request for the interim so I don't do more damage/get an infection? Is there some easier way to find dentists besides calling everyone from Yelp/the Yellow Pages? [more inside]

How to Shop for Directors & Officers Liability Insurance for a NonProfit

I'm doing some work for a small but growing nonprofit based in the State of Wisconsin. They are looking into getting Directors and Officers Liability Insurance and asked me if I knew of a good policy provider. The providers I'm familiar with would not work with a group this small (small board, Executive Director, volunteers...donation receipts about $200K+). I'm unsure of how best to vet a provider that I don't have direct experience with...any advice?

Car accident & worker's compensation

Yesterday afternoon, while on the job, I was involved in a car accident. I was crossing an intersection when a car ran a red light and slammed into my front passenger side. My car went into a telephone pole. Thankfully there were no serious injuries to either parties however both cars were totaled. Witnesses called the police and a police report was filed. The investigator took the statement of one witness who watched the other car run the red light and hit me. I have a few questions about what happens next to make sure I am taking the right steps. How to Force a Doctor to Fix a Billing Mistake

Two months ago I went to a new doctor for my yearly physical at the recommendation of a friend. I've talked with my insurance provider before and they said that an annual physical is covered and should cost me approximately nothing. So I was surprised when I later got a bill for several hundred dollars. The root of the problem seems to be that the doctor classified everything as diagnostic rather than preventative. My insurance has said they can't do anything unless he contacts them and changes the classification. I have called and emailed the doctor's office multiple times to clear up the issue, but they have done nothing and I am still getting bill reminders for several hundred dollars. What additional action can I take, legal or otherwise, to force this doctor to fix his mistake?

Great renter's insurance for a cyclist?

I've come to the realization that I'm stupid for not having renter's insurance. Mainly because I now have a collection of six bicycles that are very dear to me; a couple of them are even custom. I'm looking for renter's insurance that will protect me from theft (in home and out) and if possible, even damage from crashing. Ideally this would also cover the bikes at full value, not some bs depreciation. I'm in San Francisco, CA.

Should I fill a prescription in my own name, intended for my mom?

My mother is retired and disabled, on a fixed income. Every single year she hits the coverage gap (the "donut hole") on her medications, usually by September or October. This leads to the last three months of the year being a scramble of asking for free samples of her diabetic medications from her endocrinologist, and scraping to get by. Employment Insurance in Ontario

Hi. I have a question about how employment insurance works in Ontario. I read through the government of Ontario's webpage, but some things were unclear and I was hoping to get some clarity here. (If there's a better place to post this, please let me know!) I currently work as an actuarial student. In this context, student means that I'm still progressing through exams - I'm actually in my late 20's and well out of university. My job requires that I pass a series of exams. If I fail to pass an exam at least once every 18 months, I'll be fired. I'm writing an exam at the end of April and if I fail, I will meet the condition where the company can fire me. My question is - would I qualify for employment insurance payments if that were to happen?

Host Liquor Liability Insurance

In the midst of wedding planning and I am not sure how to resolve this particular issue. We finally found and booked a venue that we like and where we could bring in an outside caterer. Our caterer happens to be a BYO restaurant. Our venue allows us to serve alcohol but requires proof of insurance. Particularly, Host Liquor Liability insurance for $500,000. Since the caterer is a BYO, he does not have this coverage. How do I go about getting the required insurance? I know there are third party insurance providers. Is this where I should turn to?
