Is "How did you sleep?" like "How are you?"

I just got back from a long vacation which was mostly great. I stayed with friends in a few places and at AirBnBs or hotels in a few other places. A lot of morning conversations over coffee included some aspect of "How did you sleep?" and I'm not sure how to politely answer that question. [more inside]

Gift delivery in Seoul

A friend's parents hosted my child and I for a few days in Seoul and were very generous as hosts. I'd like to have a gift delivered to them to thank them. I'm thinking flowers or fruit. I need to be able to order from the US, in English. Taking suggestions for what would be appropriate.

Decent Hosting Outside US, With Added Snowflakes

I'm looking for a new hosting company for a domain I own and use for personal projects. I'm using Hostmonster at the moment. They're OK, but don't do HTTPS without a private IP, and don't do IPv6 at all. If I'm going to deal with the hassle of switching, I've got a laundry list of needs and wants. [more inside]

Moving photos from Flickr before it is shuttered

I have accumulated - and curated - around 5K photos on Flickr. Quite a few of these are embedded/pulled into various places (blogpost example). In case Flickr does go under, I'm looking for quick/non-teccie solutions for moving the entire bunch of photos and also for easily updating all of those places where a bit of code pulls in the picture from Flickr. Un-blacklisted email accounts for cheap?

We have personal email accounts on our own domain and send maybe 1000 purely noncommercial, non-bulk emails in a month. Sometimes these get blocked by various blacklists, because we're sharing our SMTP servers with everyone else on 1&1. Help me find mail hosting that will not get blocked but also is cheaper than getting a dedicated virtual server for $13 a month. Assume that I can install and setup any reasonable Linux distro, if necessary, but a turnkey solution is preferred. [more inside]

Time to jump ship? - domain names edition

I have a domain that's expiring soon (less than 2 weeks) and I want to get it renewed. It's managed at GoDaddy, and has been since I bought it. However, with the price they're asking for renewal, I'm wondering if I can't get a better deal elsewhere. Would it be better to switch, and if so, which company would you recommend? Domain Scalping, How To Fix?

Need reliable, affordable hosting service with cPanel

It's time to move on from my mail losing/delaying hosting service, despite their generally excellent support. In 2014, who would you recommend? Must haves: reliable, under $15/month, supports WordPress, uses cPanel. Nice to have: Canadian, green, some other awesome attributes of your choice. I want to change the homepage of my domain at a specific time. How?

Pretty much what it says on the tin. I currently have index.html as the top level page on my domain. On a specific day at a specific time, I want to have that page change to e.g. index2.html more or less permanently. I would like this to be a surprise and specifically timed, so it needs to be a) server side, and ideally b) invisible even to someone poking around. GoDaddy is my host, I have complete backend access to everything, and know next to nothing about php or js, so please explain like I'm 5.
