In past questions (
1,
2), I've described my stereo setup and my desire to build a stereo tube amp. I have no worries about actually
building the kit amp, but I'm not sure what I'd do with all my speakers. In thinking about this, I realized I don't know much about my stereo in the first place. Can you help me understand what it actually
means to have a stereo amp?

Recently I received an old hifi (stereo receiver with aux and phono inputs) and two EPI speakers from a family member. The system is quite old, but headphones sound great, as does one of the two speakers. The other sounds blown. What are my options in New York City?

Looking for a small "bookshelf" style hi fi unit. I have recently moved to the US from Australia and had to leave my great little hi fi behind. I am currently playing my CD's through a borrowed portable unit that sounds like a tin can and have been hunting for something better.

I just hooked my android phone up to my hifi. The default music player is ok but I feel I may be missing out on something. Streaming apps seem flakey. I would like recommendations on playing/managing/enjoying music through my android device.

Our apartment is 11 years old. Apparently that's not quite new enough for it to have been wired for sound when it was built, so I have to do it myself. Hardwood floors, but it's a wooden building so presumably the walls and ceiling are fair game. Can I run wires without tearing off molding or cutting holes in the ceiling? How? Can I do it myself, or is it the kind of thing that requires a professional? How do they do this stuff?

I'm curious about all the hype surrounding the
Sonic Impact Class T integrated amp, and would like to use this curiosity as an excuse to finally set-up a small bedroom stereo system. The TNT Audio review (linked above) suggests >90 dB speakers - any suggestions on speakers to pair with this amp? I want to keep the price down, but I'm willing to pay enough so I can enjoy the sound.
