Tumblr recently switched out their flash-based music player with a new, more mobile-friendly one. That's good, except the new one is devastatingly ugly and has totally different proportions. I'm not even sure it's displaying correctly - the arrow is off-center, the text looks wonky. I have been trying in vain to find ways of fiddling with its attributes, but the ones exposed are very limited. Has anyone else noticed this problem with the look, and has anyone had any success in customizing it?

This weekend I'm setting up a website for an academic event. I'd like the homepage of the site to have large, clickable progress bars that display the number of posts for each of the subpages (News & Announcements, Blog, Events, etc.). As more posts are added to each of the subpages (posts would likely be sorted and displayed by category and tag), its respective progress bar takes up more screen real estate and the tally count listed on/near it increases. Basically, I want the homepage to look like a giant, dynamic bar chart. Is there a freeware (or cheap) template, widget or piece of code that allows me to do this?

I want to include a counter on my website. I don't want to use a "free" counter that includes links or advertisement on my site. I'd rather just write the code in myself for a simple, small, black-and-white counter. Can anyone help me?

Plain old HTML: is there any way to get the contents of HTML file A into HTML file B without using frames, iframes, PHP or other server side stuff (it's for on a cd), and just copy-pasting the contents of one into the other? So something like an import function (perhaps done with javascript)? I need a page with a TOC + content and want to make it pretty, so frames are a no.

Web tricks. This rather
clever use of the "marquee" html tag made me wonder how I could code a really stupid and irritating effect : mousing over a link triggers a tiny, obnoxious audio clip.
" isn't there some way I could make a tiny little (2-3 sec) audio clip play when somebody mouses over a link?....Farts, shrieks, high pitched cartoon voices wailing "It's hopeless. I'll just crawl up my ass and die!", and so on."
