I have a Chrome/Google Apps for Domains account for work. When I log onto my computer at work with that account, I have a bunch of apps and a bunch of bookmarks.
My issue is: when I sign into Chrome at home with my work account, none of my apps or bookmarks are there. On the settings page (advanced sync settings) I have selected "Apps", "Bookmarks", "Extensions, "Passwords", "Settings", "Themes" and "Open Tabs" but my Apps and Bookmarks and Password that are on my work computer (under this account) are not there when I sign in on my home computer (under this account). Right now I have the email setup of my small business so that email@example.com (we'll call it) is our public address, and email sent there is forwarded by our host provider to firstname.lastname@example.org, which is our main company account with Google Apps for Business. 99% of emails sent to email@example.com come through to firstname.lastname@example.org just fine, but there's that 1% that just disappear -- they don't go to spam folder, they don't seem to go anywhere. I see “kids” reading powerpoint lectures and taking notes on theirs, so I finally decided it was an investment in my education (I’m a grad student). I read the Nexus 7 book that came in my “library” but I still have a lot of questions. Please help so that I can get the most out of this tablet.

Are older phones or phones designed for poorer countries any less susceptible to spying than the latest Apple, Google or Android models? I've read about CEO's looking for the very old brick phones because since they don't have the sophisticated technology of the modern phones, they're harder to monitor or track. I understand the phones w/o apps are clearly more secure regarding third parties because they aren't sending personal data to companies. But what the government and everything else; voice, location via cell towers, SMS; the very basics.

(all e-mail addresses below are fakes, natch)
I created email@example.com solely for the purpose of having a Google voice account to port a cell phone number to. I no longer needed the phone, and consolidated what were two phones (work and personal) into one number. Since I didn't want to check another e-mail address when voicemail/text notifications came in, and since the discarded phone had been for work, I set up firstname.lastname@example.org as the address to forward all e-mails to, and also set up this e-mail as my recovery address for the email@example.com account.
This is the only association between these two accounts, and I have never publicized firstname.lastname@example.org at all, to anyone.
Now that I've done this, gmail users who enter email@example.com into the TO: field to send me e-mail see the icon I used for firstname.lastname@example.org, and apparently the Google+ info that Google automatically set up for that account. It gets worse after the break... [more inside]

GMail Themes only change the look of the inbox as best I can tell, not the background and text color of the actual messages. My grandfather's eyesight is degenerating badly, and he can read white-on-black much easier than black-on-white. I assume the answer involves user styles managed through the Chrome plugin Stylish, which has a lot of options for Google Chrome, but searching the web hasn't turned up a working snippet of code for user styles that will change the text and background colors. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I recently did a Google search for an old college friend of mine that I haven't seen since his wedding a couple of years ago. I found a link to a baby registry with his and his wife's name on it, and the due date was listed as a week ago.
I really want to call him up and congratulate him, but there's something a little weird about it: The registry has a ton of stuff on it, but almost nothing has been purchased: Just a few stuffed animals. This makes me worry that maybe they lost the baby and they just never took down the registry. [more inside]

Someone has created a site via Google Sites that is radically defaming myself and my family. We're not talking about a 12 year playing a prank. It's a systematic attack with the most egregious accusations one can imagine. They're parroting my personal business site and posting info that is not only libelous, but fantastically horrible. The junk they've posted about myself, my wife and our two small children is heartbreaking. We believe we know who it is (but have no proof) and have contacted the FBI on advice of a lawyer. They've told us they'll call us once they get jurisdiction figured out and the cybercrime guys take a look. The kind SAIC looked at the site and understood the problem but only got the ball in motion. That could take weeks/months for them to move on this and the site needs to come down, now.

I have a website that has 50 pages, each containing the text of a different US state constitution. I want a search box that gives me the option to search all 50 constitutions at once (Entire Site) for all mentions of that term OR lets me search a single constitution (Alabama) for all mentions of that term. The box I'm currently using only allows one result of the term per constitution. So the entire site search give a max of 50 results, and a single state search gives a max of 1 result. And Google Custom Search freezes. Do I have to build one or is one available commercially that I can customize and plug in?

I use Google Scholar to look for court cases. For some reason, for the last few months the options at the bottom of the search box have been as shown in the extended area. It used to be that the last entry would be "Michigan courts," as that is where I live. But the choice now is always "California courts." Even if I take the several (annoying) steps needed to select Michigan courts, it defaults back to California courts the next time.

When word started spreading that Michael Jackson had died, I remember searching Google for his name and getting back an error page
. Apparently so many people searched for him at the same time that Google's computers thought it was a DDoS or similar attack. Here's my question, which has been surprisingly difficult to Google: had this ever happened before, and has it happened since? If so, when and for what event(s)? To be clear, I mean a legitimate worldwide search being improperly seen as an attack (as opposed to Google properly detecting bad guys or Google just plain crashing).

This is for work. It's a wordpress site. According to a wordpress plugin that's already been installed, I have a google analytics tracking number that has been on the homepage for several months already.
How do I see analytics about the site's visitors. When I go to Google analytics, it makes me enter an email address, my site URL and generates a NEW tracking number. I don't want a new tracking number. I want to use my existing number that has been on the homepage for months already.
so how do I use google analytics if all I have is a tracking number and a URL. I don't have the email associated with this tracking URL, if there ever was one. That was before I was hire.
