Someone has created a site via Google Sites that is radically defaming myself and my family. We're not talking about a 12 year playing a prank. It's a systematic attack with the most egregious accusations one can imagine. They're parroting my personal business site and posting info that is not only libelous, but fantastically horrible. The junk they've posted about myself, my wife and our two small children is heartbreaking. We believe we know who it is (but have no proof) and have contacted the FBI on advice of a lawyer. They've told us they'll call us once they get jurisdiction figured out and the cybercrime guys take a look. The kind SAIC looked at the site and understood the problem but only got the ball in motion. That could take weeks/months for them to move on this and the site needs to come down, now.

Looking for a slick way to update the album artwork for a large (>150gb) music library on a PC. The key here is updating to HD
album artwork. My smartphone has a really high res screen and most artwork looks awful on it. What's the easiest, most painless way to do this (for free!

I've been doing research involving the treatment of musicians under repressive regimes. A while back I found a graph that had a list of countries, and for each country listed the number of musicians killed, tortured, abducted, assaulted etc. in a certain period of time. But I've lost this graph!! Can you help me relocate it? [more inside]

In an opening chapter of this book which I read a year or two ago, the author describes a meeting/discussion with Google's Brin and Page, during which one of them refuses to take his eyes off the mobile device he's holding (if memory serves, the author requests the Googler to be present and not distracted/have his attention split by his little device, to which the latter responds laconically in the negative). Given that many people are divided about Google Glass, with some people especially resistant to even the idea of someone wearing them, how, when and what would be appropriate for someone wearing them?

I have a website that has 50 pages, each containing the text of a different US state constitution. I want a search box that gives me the option to search all 50 constitutions at once (Entire Site) for all mentions of that term OR lets me search a single constitution (Alabama) for all mentions of that term. The box I'm currently using only allows one result of the term per constitution. So the entire site search give a max of 50 results, and a single state search gives a max of 1 result. And Google Custom Search freezes. Do I have to build one or is one available commercially that I can customize and plug in?

I use Google Scholar to look for court cases. For some reason, for the last few months the options at the bottom of the search box have been as shown in the extended area. It used to be that the last entry would be "Michigan courts," as that is where I live. But the choice now is always "California courts." Even if I take the several (annoying) steps needed to select Michigan courts, it defaults back to California courts the next time.
Does anyone know how this behavior can be changed? [more inside]

I have two Google accounts, so I already have Google Plus on one and it's fine, not that I use social networking much. But the other one was the one I used to sign up with Feedly. Which is now insisting that I create a second Google Plus profile in order to sign back in to view my feeds, with no warning. Is there any way out of this aside from creating a brand new feeds account using the email address that already has a profile? [more inside]

When word started spreading that Michael Jackson had died, I remember searching Google for his name and getting back an error page
. Apparently so many people searched for him at the same time that Google's computers thought it was a DDoS or similar attack. Here's my question, which has been surprisingly difficult to Google: had this ever happened before, and has it happened since? If so, when and for what event(s)? To be clear, I mean a legitimate worldwide search being improperly seen as an attack (as opposed to Google properly detecting bad guys or Google just plain crashing).

Why does my Gmail tab continue blinking indicating I have an unread Google Talk window when I've already viewed it? The only way to get the tab to stop blinking is to open an email or something similar, which then "clears" the blinking name ("Steve says...") out of the tab. [more inside]

This is for work. It's a wordpress site. According to a wordpress plugin that's already been installed, I have a google analytics tracking number that has been on the homepage for several months already.
How do I see analytics about the site's visitors. When I go to Google analytics, it makes me enter an email address, my site URL and generates a NEW tracking number. I don't want a new tracking number. I want to use my existing number that has been on the homepage for months already.
so how do I use google analytics if all I have is a tracking number and a URL. I don't have the email associated with this tracking URL, if there ever was one. That was before I was hire.

A few months ago, I started getting emails thanking me for signing up for things like Match.com, Monster, and a few newsletters, all of these were using a personal address that I haven't used in about 7 years. I figured it was a weird spam thing, since the user names they created for these accounts were just random letters (like djfdksjafkasjvnckdfja). Today, I got four different responses from auto insurance companies about quote requests that I didn't actually make, all using that old address as well. I think I need to delete my Google account to stop this, but I'm very very hesitant to lose access to all my paid apps. Any suggestions what I could do?

I'm trying to remember the name and author fo a sci-fi novel that predicted the idea of Google glasses and their impact on society. I can clearly remember one of the characters, a youung person, complaining that all these old people had these glasses that recorded everything that happened around them and could send that data directly to the police. It was kind of an Orwellian Big Brother feel to society. You were always being watched, recorded, reported, etc. I was reminded again about this after reading an article on NPR about the first police arrest recorded on Google Glass
. Does anyone else remember this book or the author? Thanks in advance for the help.
