I'm a recent Chrome user, and so far I'm having a hell of a time with the privacy settings. I like the idea of using the synch feature so I can have my bookmarks and things shared across the three or four desktops I use. However, I can't seem to figure out how to make it so it doesn't sign in automatically when I open the browser - I would like to be prompted to put in a password every time. I feel really stupid, but I can't figure out how to make that happen. [more inside]

I have a work calendar in Exchange. I also have an Android phone and a Mac. For the last couple of years I've been using Spanning Sync to copy entries from my Exchange calendar to a Google calendar and then on my phone I can see all my calendars using the built in calendar program ( I also use Touchdown so I can see my exchange calendar on my phone if I have to, but it doesn't integrate with the phone calendars so I have to use two different applications to see my entire calendar, which is a pain). The problem is that Spanning Sync is going away. Is there any other application or service out there that'll automatically copy entries from one iCal calendar to another?

I have a MacBook Pro with all software updated. I have been using Google Chrome as my browser for the last year or so. I also have Google Chrome installed on my Iphone 4s, but rarely use it. For the first 6-7 month, my bookmarks synced fine between the devices and my Google accounts. About 2-3 months ago, I have started to notice that bookmarks I have deleted have started to show up in Chrome again, sometimes multiple times... I delete the unwanted bookmarks again, and they re-appear several days later. I have 'googled' my problem and it seems many people have/are experiencing this issue... [more inside]

My iPad 2 usually is usually asleep with its Smart Cover closed. Recently, after leaving it asleep for several days, I took it somewhere without network access and used Google Currents, but found all the articles were several days old. I have Settings > Sync > Update set to Automatic, but apparently that doesn't help if I don't have the device on (or maybe if I don't run Currents). Is there a way to get it to wake up every day and update Google Currents without me having to do it manually? [more inside]

How can I sync an online calendar feed (xml) with either iCal or Google Calendar? I know I can sync iCal and gCalendar easily through several methods. But what I also need to include is my department's events calendar. I can import it as an iCal or Outlook file, but this is only a one-time option. Once the department's calendar is updated I don't receive the new or changed events. And I suspect if I import the (newer) file again, I will get many duplicates. The calendar has an xml feed I could subscribe to, but can't figure out how to translate this into a calendar that automatically syncs or updates. Willing to consider any options that would lead to the online calendar (.ics, .csv, or .xml file) being auto updated to any calendar application. This would make my life so much easier! Thanks!

It's been months now and I still can't find a synchronization solution for Google Calendar / iCal (or palm desktop) / Palm Pilot. The very fact that it's taken so long is making me suspect that there's some technical issue that makes it actually not possible. Is this correct? Is there a solution out there to sync (push data both ways) my google calendar with my palm pilot?

Are there any web based calendars/task management programs that will sync with Outlook or straight to my Pocket PC? I got Sunbird syncing but after using it a while I switched back to Outlook, but I really like the idea of using something like Google Calendar, Backpack or iCommit when I'm at work or at school. I’ve thought about an exchange server account somewhere, but all the places I looked seemed to be pretty pricy for a student budget. Any suggestions?
