How does the movie "Flight", which was pretty much off the internet radar a couple weeks ago, suddenly dominate the top organic search results for the word "flight"?

Why is google indexing my personal domain "better" than my work's domain - both have WP blogs, but only posts under my personal domain show up in the Google Alert I have for my name. I am responsible for the visibility of my employer's blog and I do not think it's being crawled effectively (or something).

Calling SEO/Google Experts: I have a bloglike site for a new company (on Wordpress) and I am trying to make it SEO friendly. Hypothetically, lets assume that the site is about flying lizards and I have named it 'liz.ly'. Every day, new and well written content is added to this site so hopefully in the next few months it will start showing up at a respectable rank on google. BUT:

I have a Wordpress site. In spidering the site, and coming up with the little synopsis underneath the title, Google, Bing and Yahoo all believe that it's not a personal Web site but a spammy list of prescription drugs for sale. I don't understand why.

I have just discovered the world of incoming links tools like Marketleap which check incoming links to my site. There are several, and Marketleap confirms this for search engines like Yahoo, AlltheWeb, etc. But Marketleap and Seocentro.com - the two links tools I've checked - list zero incoming links from Google. Google Analytics is tracking the site; the site appears on a Google search; but a Google search for link:(mywebsite).com brings up a big fat "0" on Google. What could be the explanation for this?

How do I get Google to recognize a search for "melophobe" is a search for my webpage "mel.opho.be"? If you search for "delicious" the first hit is del.icio.us, however if you search for "melophobe" my website is nowhere to be found. It's obviously the top hit in a search for "mel.opho.be" but honestly, people aren't going to be Googling it with the periods. I know there must be a solution, but I'm having a hard time figuring it out.

I am looking for someone to explain Google's search results. The reseach I have done says you need to have lots of good links coming into your site from other high PR sites. I am wondering why Google does not use website visitors. Ie. If you have 100,000 visitors per week, this must be better than a site with 1000 visitors per week, but has high PR incoming links.

Every once in a while, when I search Google, I end up with some
weird search results. All ads. It doesn't happen all the time and I don't know if it's Google stooping to a new low, or if it's me and some kind of adware. Note that I also get a
pop-up window with this page that has a couple other ad links.
