I have multiple email addresses associated with my gmail account. Can I make one of them show up as the default in an
original email's "from" field based on the email address or domain I'm writing to?

Gmail + Thunderbird = spamfree email?
I use gmail (via google apps) for my small company's email. While it is generally good, the inability to permanently block a sender (e.g. businesses who won't remove me from their spam list) is frustrating, especially when the senders keep appearing in the daily quarantine report. Could this be solved by using Thunderbird as an IMAP client (and “whitelisting” the senders in Postini so they don't appear in the quarantine report)? Is there an easier or more elegant solution? TIA.

After three great years my Google Calendar has simply stopped sending me email notifications. I have tried the help page

here. This seems to be a prevalent problem. I wish I could switch to something else but Gmail is what I use heart and soul for work. Any others solved this problem? I am all ears. Thanks for your time.

Please tell me everything I need to know about the GMail dot feature (placing - or not placing - a dot in the username of a gmail email address). I don't understand it, how to use it, what it does and how to take advantage of it. As an email receiver and sender. Also, what problems are created with this? Is there a way I can use it to categorize email, both received and sent?

Why is my (and my friend's) server dropping emails? A friend and I run small businesses in Hong Kong. I'm using a well-known hosting company in Florida, he's with a big U.S. registrar that offers hosting. Both of us have been losing emails from clients in Hong Kong, other parts of Asia and the U.S., including messages from people on our white lists and who we've received messages from before. We've asked our respective hosting companies, but they haven't been able to explain this, and I haven't seen any black helicopters recently. Does the great hive mind have any suggestions for fixing this? For bonus points, would moving our email accounts to Google apps help?

Gmail Hosted Apps attachment weirdness.
I administrate a hosted apps account; recently a MS Publisher file was sent to everyone in the organisation, all were able to open it originally, bar one person, who for some reason, when attempting to download, could only download as a zip file. Tested the same situation in Firefox on XP at home (the situation occurs on IE6/XP) and it downloads fine. Tested with another account on XP/IE 6 and i find this is the same case, i.e. only able to download the MS Publisher file as a zip file. Has anyone else experienced this weirdness? is this due to Google withdrawing support for IE6?
