In Firefox, I use the middle button of my mouse to open links in a new tab. I really wish I could do that with gmail (i.e., middle click on several emails and have them open each in a new tab, or middle click on "compose mail" so that would open in a new tab). Is there any way to do that?

I have Firefox 3 color options set so that visited links turn a dark Grey when clicked, every site seems to work with this but the sender and subject lines in Gmail.. What's strange is the links on the left hand side of the Gmail page (Inbox, starred, sent mail, drafts, etc ) go dark when clicked on. Does anyone know if Google uses some special CSS or something on the right hand side, can this be overridden so the visited links will turn the Grey I have checked?

When I start Gmail, it hangs, without fully loading. I input my name and password, and it attempts to load, but hangs before fully loading and showing my mailbox. My only alternative is then to load the HTML view. This is a very limited and unworkable mode. I've tried Google's standard fixes with no avail. Can anyone help?

My gmail problem has returned! When I type, the cursor suddenly randomly moves to other places in the text, creating annoyance. AskMefi fix-- changing to UK English-- worked previously but now they've gotten round to making whatever change messed me up in the US on the UK version too. Reverting to older version won't stay reverted. Any ideas greatly appreciated!

I've been using Mail.app with OS X Leopard as a front end to my Gmail account. And it works great, for the most part.
Unfortunately it seems to download both my "Inbox" and also the "All Mail" folder from Gmail. This has the effect of increasing the amount of messages in Mail.app significantly, and I want it to stop.

Gmail is behaving really annoyingly for me lately: when I type an email, the cursor suddenly jumps into the text of the email I am answering and/or into something I have previously typed, thereby making it wrong.
So, in this question, it might suddenly jump from here to the paragraph above or below rather than going sequentially. I am using firefox. It only does this on the "new version" but it won't stay set on "older version" when I navigate away. Also, it sometimes sends suddenly when I'm working on an email. Google's Help and Newsgroup didn't help.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

How can I make an archive of my SMS messages? In this era of network-accessible, searchable, archived, free, multi-gigabyte email storage, I'm a little miffed that my SMS storage is limited to arbitrary limit of 50 message on my phone. Lots of important things come in via SMS, and I hate how they just disappear. I get
Twitters from friends, nice notes from my girlfriend, voice mail transcriptions from
CallWave, business information via
GOOG-411's text service... and so on. I'd like for the solution to cost as little as possible. I don't have an unlimited txt plan (I get a few hundred per month) so simply forwarding every SMS I receive and CCing every SMS I send to an email address isn't a very appealing solution as it really raises my SMS costs and takes effort.

Yesterday, the "dynamic" (aka AJAX) version of Gmail stopped working for me in Firefox. I am using FF 2.0.0.9, but when I go to gmail (or Google Calendar) I am getting a message saying my browser is not supported, and they throw me into the standard html version. What's going on here? Gmail Contacts filter: I'd like to control the width of column displays in my Gmail contacts list. Right now the "Name" column is too narrow - long names get cut off by the "Details" column. Why is GMail and Yahoo mail so sluggish, but everything else fast on my network? Just about every other site works fast and great - YouTube, even BitTorrent downloads - but GMail and Yahoo mail both hang like crazy. Sometimes reloading the page works for a few minutes, but not always.
