What labels do you use in Gmail? I feel like I have too many labels for my Gmail account and there is too much overlap between them. What are the best sets of labels?

I have a Gmail account and a university email account (IMAP), both configured through OSX's Mail (the IMAP is only for sending mail; all incoming mail comes through the Gmail account). Lately, none of my email has been showing up in Mail (I know this because I've started keeping Gmail Notifier on the menubar as a double-check). It's not just that it takes a while to collect; it just never actually appears in my Mail.app inbox. I've double checked all my settings against Google's instructions, and even removed and re-added the mailbox.
Any ideas as to what could have gone wrong and how I could fix it?

Safari + gmail question. Is it possible to press the 'Send' button in gmail with the keyboard using Safari? I can tab to the button so that it is highlighted but it seems that there is no way to press it from the keyboard. In Firefox this is easily done -- highlight the button and press return and the message sends. In Safari this typically works with similar setups, but not gmail buttons. I know this sounds like a picky thing to ask but it has been bugging me for ages.

I dutifully label "conversations" in Gmail, and would now like to e-mail everyone with whom I've ever corresponded with on one such labeled topic. Is there any way to automatically generate a huge cc/bcc list from all the conversations under a label?

Is there a way to connect to gmail using pop from behind a firewall that blocks the ports they specify? Ideally over 80? I don't have broadband at home so setting up a tunnel or variation to a pc on the outside isn't an option. Thunderbird on WinXP connected behind a typical corporate firewall.

I am working on an application that will send an html-newsletter. It looks great in thunderbird or Outlook, and like crap in Gmail or Hotmail, which a lot of the recipients use. The template uses css, which is included in the headers of the message (not linked).
What is the common wisdom about html-email that looks good in Hotmail and Gmail? Is there any way to keep the CSS or do I have to start over from scratch?

GmailFilter: I switched to Gmail over a year ago, and I think it's great. But one feature that Yahoo and Hotmail have I haven't been able to find on Gmail: when I write an email and want to send to multiple people, what's the best way to do this? With Hotmail, for example, the "To" is a hyperlink and brings up a small popup list of all your contacts--very simple and convenient. Does Gmail have a similar feature? I canna find it!

How do I auto- forward a copy of all emails received and sent to gmail? I use Windows XP with Outlook Express and I have discovered it doesn't seem to have this function available. I would be willing to switch apps if one could automatically forward a copy of everything I send out to my gmail account and also copy and forward all incoming mail to my gmail. I want to still primarily use a pop3 email client, but send a copy to gmail for archiving purposes. Any ideas on the best way to get this done?

My email is spazzing out! I use IncrediMail at home to get my Hotmail, Yahoo and GMail messages. Every few weeks, (more often recently) every email in all three accounts will download AGAIN into IncrediMail.

Gmail truncates long messages with ...[message clipped]. A Google search only turns up the suggestion to 'view original', but that gives all the code, and doesn't help with html messages. Any suggestions?

In the last couple of weeks Gmail's normally-astute spam filtering has totally given up the ghost in one specific area: stock spam. It seems like every single stock spam slips past the filter and ends up in my inbox. At the moment every other time I get a new email it comes with a subject like "Leading auth0rity On l0w priced st0cks". Anyone else having the same issue? Yesterday morning, when I tried to collect my Gmail messages, Thunderbird told me the server had reponded "Lockdown in Sector 4!". I couldn't get into Gmail (POP3 or webmail interface) all yesterday and all today; it's come good tonight. Has this happened to anybody else? If so, have you ever found out why?

Gmail consistently pops forward upon loading or reloading on Firefox, and did so when I was using Mozilla. This really bugs me, and I don't like using tabs. Can anyone tell me how to make this stop? iMac 10.3.5, did this to me before on my "toilet seat" laptop.

GmailFilter: Is it just me, or does Gmail's spam-filtering engine occasionally (and sometimes regularly) just give up the ghost? I have a legacy personal email account dating back from the dark ages which receives over 300 emails a day, 95% of which is spam. I used to pull this mail down into Outlook and use SpamNet to filter it, but I recently set the legacy account to redirect through my Gmail account, which normally catches all but about 5% of the spam - Result! However, I find that Gmail regularly (about once a week) decides to let another 5-10% of the spam through - and in the last couple of days it seems to have fallen over completely (i.e. I am getting new spam every minute or so). Anyone else notice anything funny going on?
