I'm encountering the same problem with Gmail and Firefox (on Mac) described in
this question, but I'm too computer illiterate to understand the fixes that the "best answer" refers me to- I can't find "about:config" to make sure dom.storage.enabled is TRUE; "About Firefox" just gets me the little box with the icon and the version number. Can someone explain to me how to implement in the fix in simpler language with more basic step-by-step instructions?

Gmail acting funny in Firefox: I have 2 gmail tabs open. One is for my personal account, the other is through my employer (the college uses google to manage their webmail service). If I try to "Compose Mail" or "Reply" or anything that would open up a new email, on either account, the top of the page goes to "Loading" but nothing ever happens. In addition, the Gmail Chat tab is missing. Only not working on my home computer; both were working fine on my office computer when I went in to check 30 min ago.

In Firefox, I use the middle button of my mouse to open links in a new tab. I really wish I could do that with gmail (i.e., middle click on several emails and have them open each in a new tab, or middle click on "compose mail" so that would open in a new tab). Is there any way to do that?

I have Firefox 3 color options set so that visited links turn a dark Grey when clicked, every site seems to work with this but the sender and subject lines in Gmail.. What's strange is the links on the left hand side of the Gmail page (Inbox, starred, sent mail, drafts, etc ) go dark when clicked on. Does anyone know if Google uses some special CSS or something on the right hand side, can this be overridden so the visited links will turn the Grey I have checked?

Google Browser Synch keeps showing my old gmail name though I have completely signed in with my new gmail address. Still, Firefox (2.0) for Mac keeps showing my older gmail name in the right corner of the browser bar. Any ideas on how to set it to my new gmail account's name?

Yesterday, the "dynamic" (aka AJAX) version of Gmail stopped working for me in Firefox. I am using FF 2.0.0.9, but when I go to gmail (or Google Calendar) I am getting a message saying my browser is not supported, and they throw me into the standard html version. What's going on here? (more after the jump)

Gtalk (embedded in Gmail) is not playing nicely with my FireFox (v. 1.5.0.7). When any conversation box pops up, it makes the scroll bar disappear on the right. As if that weren't enough, it teases me by popping it back into view every few seconds, and the conversation box flips back and forth by about the width of the scroll bar - kind of like the page is trying to reload the scroll bar every couple of seconds.

Gmail consistently pops forward upon loading or reloading on Firefox, and did so when I was using Mozilla. This really bugs me, and I don't like using tabs. Can anyone tell me how to make this stop? iMac 10.3.5, did this to me before on my "toilet seat" laptop.
