Gtalk (embedded in Gmail) is not playing nicely with my FireFox (v. 1.5.0.7). When any conversation box pops up, it makes the scroll bar disappear on the right. As if that weren't enough, it teases me by popping it back into view every few seconds, and the conversation box flips back and forth by about the width of the scroll bar - kind of like the page is trying to reload the scroll bar every couple of seconds. What single tech issue is likely to cause these three things to occur (when they all recently worked):

1. Inability to upload using Flickr Uploadr (the message says "can't connect to Flickr")
2. Inability to sub to podcasts in iTunes
3. GMail notified can't connect to the server?

All issues relate to stand-alone programs which read information on the internet. And yet, visiting these web sites directly is no problem at all. These issues are all new, and I think they relate to my new Netgear router software. I don't have these problems on my laptop, even when I'm using it at home wirelessly. My friend cannot send emails from his .mac address to my .gmail address. We can send emails back and forth routing to/from different addresses, so it's not our accounts individually. Anybody else have this problem?

gmail: i've been using it for a few weeks now and have made it my primary e-mail repository. The only thing it lacks for me, though, is the ability to be notified (on the Windows desktop) when new mail comes in. Anyone aware of software to handle this task?
