I am constantly having to sign in again on Gmail, Facebook, and Twitter on my laptop (2014 Macbook running Yosemite and generally using Safari browser, but same issue occurs when I use Chrome too) even though I select the option for the browser to remember to stay signed in and to remember my laptop & browser. There's at least one other person in the USA who shares my firstname, lastname combo. I signed up for my Gmail account 10+ years ago. It's firstname.lastname so it also works with out the ".". I've lately been getting more email intended for this other person. [more inside]
I'm switching hosts. I'm using gmail to run a domain specific email account. think firstname.lastname@example.org as an example. I switched providers to GoDaddy. They've been incredibly helpful. But I can't get the E-mail to work right. [more inside]
So, I have a standard Notes app on my iPhone and iPad. Lots of problems lately with reading/deleting mail on both, particularly with Yahoo!, so I deleted my Yahoo! and Gmail accounts and downloaded the particular apps for each instead. Then I made a note in the Notes app and to my dismay saw that most of my notes had disappeared. I googled this and learned that the Notes app may have assigned my notes to the email accounts I deleted (why?) but searching those online email accounts has only uncovered some, not all, my missing notes. iCloud doesn't have them either. Are they gone forever, hive mind? Can you think of something I've missed?
How do I find out the origin of an automatic reply that does not appear to originate from the actual email address I sent the message to? [more inside]
I'm using gmail for work and while I've used gmail for years for personal things, I hate it for work. I liked having a dedicated app (Outlook) that didn't get lost in 5,000 tabs I had open. Also, the whole meeting/calendar experience takes more clicks than Outlook does. I must be doing this wrong, is there an app or something that helps ease this? From my understanding using Outlook with Gmail over IMAP isn't a great experience so I've shied away from that. I'm on OS X if that matters.
A colleague's company run gmail account is filtering to the spam folder for other people on the same company run gmail account. Is there a fix beyond "not spam"? [more inside]

In Gmail Labs there is an "Undo Send" feature, i.e. after a message is sent, for ~5 seconds an "Undo Send" appears. EVERYONE (1, 2, 3) says Gmail just adds a 5 second delay before it sends but its not true! If I open a new e-mail window, send something to the 2nd address, it will show up almost immediately. If I click "Undo Send" in the sender's e-mail, the e-mail disappears in the recipients box! ALSO, if I send it, open it immediately in the recipients box, then click "Undo Send" it disappears from the senders box, but Stays in the recipient box. Obviously not just a simple 5 sec delay, anyone know what really going on?
I use Gmail. I read Gmail through Gmail.com, and Mailbox for ios. No other client. For the past 18 months, I randomly get old, archived email suddenly showing up in my inbox for no reason. [more inside]
For nearly a year, I've been plagued by my Google searches periodically defaulting to the Swedish Google page (and all of my Google activity turning into Swedish language). I have clicked on "sign out of all other web sessions" in gmail lots and lots of times. I have recently worked out that this happens because I signed into Google on my girlfriend's mother's account last summer. How can I make this stop without involving my girlfriend's mother? My new google account was suspended. I believe they think I'm a spammer. But I am working for a small non-profit. Our email contact list is legitimate. My initial request for account reinstatement was denied. Need help getting reinstated. Details below: [more inside]
I have a so-far unused 'public' Twitter account under my real name tied to my primary (real-name) gmail account. I have a 2nd Twitter account tied to a different gmail address that I would like to use for personal/ frivolous/off-brand uses. I would prefer that the twain shall never meet - e.g. my personal Twitter will not be suggested to contacts from professional Twitter as 'someone to follow'. Is this possible? [more inside]
I use Google Calendar. My colleague uses Outlook. Whenever he re-schedules a calendar event, I just get an email with the old event time. Help?! [more inside]
Beyond auto-forwarding all my emails, what are the best practices in switching to a new gmail address? Is there a way to move all my archived emails to the new account so I don't have to switch when searching for old emails?
At work I use Gmail and Google calendar. For meetings that I run, I want to be automatically reminded to send out agendas and reminders to the rest of the attendees. [more inside]
I'd like to export past and future emails received by a pair of GMail accounts to my own local disk, or some other (non-Google) archiving solution. I'd like to do this automatically and regularly, with minimal intervention, without adding these accounts to my primary mail client. Hope me? [more inside]
I recently bought a new Alcatel One Touch 7 Tab, running Jelly Bean. It has a lot of problems, often it takes several seconds to respond, apps freeze, it has graphical issues with some games that aren't necessarily new, some apps don't even run, and it hangs when going from one app to another. Can I use Gmail for my own domain for free? Googling around suggests that this is possible, yet signing up for Google Apps for Business implies a $5 cost/month starting in 30 days. What gives? Do any of you use Gmail for your own domains? I need 2-3 email addresses to work on my domain, hosted off of Gmail.
I used to be an inbox-zero person, but I can't do it any more.; I simply don't have the time. I've got a vast army of filters in use already. I just need a workable system for using email. Client & gmail etc etc inside. [more inside]
My mother's Google account was recently broken into by phishers. They changed her password and phone number. In her attempts to recover her account, she made several major mistakes early on and it now seems like she may not be able to recover the account via the tools provided by Google. All of her financial information is in this account, and she's going a little nuts. [more inside]
I need help with gmail functionality. I need to figure out how many(ish) extra hours I generally work. I think an easy way to capture part of this is to check out the volume of email sent outside of my working hours. Is there a reasonably easy way to do this? [more inside]
This morning, a relative called saying I had sent them spam from my Gmail account. I ran to the computer, checked Gmail's login history, but found nothing suspicious. I checked the spam folder, and sure enough, two pieces of spam with a link to a phishing site which Safari immediately picked up as such (I know, bad idea to click it at all) had been sent to every one of my contacts. I know anyone can spoof anyone else's email, despite the best attempts at protection by Gmail and such. My question is: how did they get my contacts? How can I make this spoofing harder, or at least prevent access to my contacts in the future? (Further details inside.) [more inside]

I have several google apps accounts with email inboxes for each. On my Firefox toolbar I have bookmarks for each of those email accounts in the usual format https://mail.google.com/a/yourdomain.com with my different domains substituted for yourdomain.com of course. Up until yesterday each one of those bookmarks dutifully opened the inbox of the right domain's email account... [more inside]
When we get married next year, my fiancee wants a new email address to match her "new" full name. The Gmail version of email@example.com is taken and she's bummed out. I had the thought that it might be just as good to have firstname.lastname@example.org, and then she can just forward it to her current gmail address. [more inside]
As long as I've had an iPhone I've used the default email app, Mail, linked to my primary gmail address, along with my secondary gmail address that forwards to my primary mailbox. After upgrading my iPhone 5 to the 6, I've lost the ability to use an Exchange account for gmail so that new mail pushes to the Mail app. See here. [more inside]
We use the free Google Apps at our non-profit for about 5 heavy users who have hit storage limits, 30 light and another 30+ who need to access our Google Drive and other domain-limited sites. Previously we switched heavy users to a new account with access to the previous account, plus forwards as a work-around. Google's helpdesk says upgrade only as we're non-US. Does anyone have a better solution? We use Google spreadsheets and several marketplace apps, and otherwise are super-happy with Google but $4000/annually is a big upgrade bill!
About a year ago, someone signed up for a Paypal account, using my email@example.com email address. I ignored the activation email, but somehow that has not kept me from continuing to receive account updates, receipts, etc. Hope me get the person to change the email associated with the account to one that person owns; and by extension, allow me to claim the Paypal account associated with my email. Some guy used my (secondary) e-mail address when he signed up for Facebook, so now I am getting zillions of friend requests, status updates, personal messages, etc., via Facebook that are meant for him. I have a primary and a secondary gmail adress. The first address is firstname.lastname@example.org, the secondary address is email@example.com. I have been using both for years. I'm responsible for the IT for a small business, and I'm constantly worried that one of our users, despite my frequent warnings, will click on a gmail phishing link accidentally, perhaps in an early morning daze. I know that Google and some others (Netcraft and Wot) maintain blacklists, but I'm sure none of those have nearly perfect coverage. So I'm basically just looking for an extension or pre-existing option (that I might not know about) which warns the user clicking on an email link, unless the destination domain is on a whitelist. I'm working with someone (outside of the US) who is getting a series of harassing emails to her GMail account. The abuser is sending from a number of addresses, and is thus hard to identify or block by account. Is there a way to get GMail to block mail by IP address? Filters don't seem to do it, and I doubt reporting the abuse to Google will get a response. Other solutions would also be appreciated (yes, I am talking to her about potentially using other services). Thanks!

Has the "experimental" browser on newer models of Amazon Kiindle gotten any better? Gmail keeps threatening that soon it will no longer support the native browser on my Kindle 3 (keyboard), but upgrading to Chrome as is suggested is not an option. The Kindle 5 looks like it has a browser, is it just the same, or has it improved over time? Does anyone offer a better browser for Kindle as an app?

Hey guys. So I'm trying to determine how far I've flown over the past five years; I'd like to search my Gmail account for every flight confirmation, but the results are terrible--it seems like the search is bringing up all kinds of unrelated emails. Does anyone know of a better way to do this? Thanks!
