How do I thank the vet?

My sweet kitty died today. He passed away before we could get him to the vet, quickly and, I hope, painlessly. He's been sick since the beginning of the year and we've spent a lot of time at the vet; they've been terrific. I'd like to send them something as a token of thanks. What's appropriate? Chocolates? Incredible Edibles? Just a card? Any other ideas?

What do you give a cricket fan for his birthday?

My neighbor is a big cricket fan, which is a challenge in Brooklyn when it comes to watching games on television. ESPN's app for the XBox is not very good, but it offered coverage of the West Indian teams he was most interested in following, so I've hosted him a few times to give him a chance to watch. I've gained some appreciation for the sport myself, mostly because his enthusiasm is infectious. His birthday is coming up, and I'd like to give some cricket related gift. Searching the internet suggests that cricket doesn't spawn apparel and other merchandise like other sports do. Is that true? Are there test match team jerseys or anything like that? Other ideas for gifts that might please a cricket fan?

What non-sketchy sites can I buy unscented bath beads from?

My Mom used to love using bath beads, but we haven't been able to find them for ages (We used to get them at a little red shop instead of a bigger store; I think it was a body shop inside of a Sears or Bay or something like that?) Thoughtful small gift for a good samaritan?

My car ran out of gas this morning. I was running in the rain on the highway shoulder, eyes set on the ramp to the nearest gas station, when a very kind person pulled up to offer me a ride. I didn't even pause to assess his likelihood of being a serial killer - the guy just exuded mellow good neighborliness. I was so grateful that I jumped right in his car, figuring that he most likely was on his way in to work at the same giant company that I work for (which, happily, turned out to be true). He drove me to the gas station, and then backtracked on the highway to drop me back off at my car, where he waited to make sure all was well. Guessing he was late for work as a result, but he couldn't have been more pleasant and easygoing about this gesture (and so politely brushed off my embarrassment at running out of gas and needing to be rescued!). I found out from a colleague where he sits, and I'd love to drop off a thank-you note and an appropriate small, thoughtful gift on his desk tomorrow morning. Something to acknowledge this very personal gesture, while still remaining professional. You know, like a can of beans that says, "Here's hoping YOU never run out of gas!" Ack! Totally joking. That would be terrible. No joke gifts, just something classy and small. Would a bottle of wine be too personal for a business relationship? Thanks in advance for the help!

Gift Etiquette for work-friend birthdays

Went to birthday thing at a restaurant/bowling place for a work friend. There were 6 of us here. I consider the people there work-friends, in that I generally don't hang out with them outside of work. I was surprised that 3 of the friends gave gifts to the birthday girl, while the other guy bought her drinks and food. I tried to offer to pay for part of the entertainment cost but was begged off. So I felt like I didn't contribute much to the birthday celebration and possibly commited a faux pas in not getting a gift. I was under the impression that people at work who weren't that close don't give birthday gifts to each other. Did I commit a faux pas? Should I give a belated gift?
