My 5 (near 6) year old daughter is in love with her Leap Frog Leapad, which she got for Easter. She especially loves the photo features and pet that comes with it, as well as a Tinkerbell book and Dora game. She's wondering if she can have another game though - which we'd happily get her, but as they are rather expensive we'd like to get a good one that's worth it. So, what are the best Leappad and compatible Leapster games? OUR PREFERENCE: Educational, particularly reading skills. HER PREFERENCE: Angry Birds. Hmm, maybe not kid...

Friends & I enjoy playing words-with-friends because it's a) asynchronous/turn-based, so we can play throughout the day without having to find times we're both free; and b) cross-platform, for android & iphone. What other games that fit those two categories should we try?

Can you tell me which games for either the NES, SNES, or Genesis (or their contemporaries) had the visual appearance of your character change logically when you got a new item? I'm not looking for something like Final Fantasy I, where the appearance changes due to an event, but you otherwise look the same, no matter which armor you have on; I'm looking for games like Metroid, where Samus's Power Suit and Varia Suit are different armors, and your character looks different as a result. Not looking for examples from later-gen systems such as Playstation onward, which seem much more likely to do this.

Looking for top notch, detailed but fun games to play on an iPod Touch. Games like Tower Defense (Lost Earth) or the Angry Birds series, where you can make progress and pick up from where you left off.
Not games like Temple Run/Jetpack Joyride/Robot Unicorn Attack where you start from scratch every time (even if you do get upgrades or badges). I am not really interested in Plants vs Zombies or Tiny Wings for whatever reason.

I plan to spend 2 weeks in the west coast to one day move there. I am hoping to travel to various cities and explore video game related places. I want to network and talk to people from all video game walks of life, from indie developers to touring game studios. What places should I visit? What studios does tours?
I was planning to tour around late June, but should I center it around PAX Prime?

I don't get PC game requirements; I seem to have a mental block on the issue, and I don't think I'm going to get it. I've never had one of those fancy "video card" things. HL2 and Portal work great on my laptop, Bio-shock is sluggish to the point where its playable but I won't bother. What games that were state-of-the-art at the time, but are now older, can I play?

I saw some Brooklyn high schoolers outside playing a game that could be described as turn-based freeze tag (and poses that came out of tai chi postures). As the initial setup they stood in a ring of around 8-10, frozen in a pose. At certain points one person would make a wild move (mainly using arms, hands extended flat, sometimes pivoting) and attempt to tag the person next to them out of the ring. They would return to frozen after that, but there may have been a countermove made as well. Eventually there were two people and a winner was found. Any idea what they were playing?

27 years old and in a bit of a career crisis. I've been drifting between dead-end jobs and I want to steer myself into a more satisfying position. I'm especially interested in getting into a creative industry and/or web development/design, or something else that will play to my (self-perceived) strengths of creativity and technical aptitude.
I need advice. So much advice. Perhaps some of you kind folks can help! [NB - This gets pretty long. Also, I'm in London, UK.]

A friend of mine has 20+ old arcade games in his basement. He has essentially set up a small arcade museum at his house. It's pretty sweet! The games are split between several circuits in the house but power is becoming a concern. These old electronics are sensitive to spikes and low voltages and we want to keep them running as long as possible - most of the circuit boards are not made and difficult to replace or repair. What should we consider for 110v line conditioning?

Since the Xbox 360 doesn't have a browser I am unable to connect to Xbox Live on a public internet connection because the 360 cannot give me access to the user agreement (if anyone knows a way around that, I'd like to know). Does anyone know if the PS3 has a browser capable of going on a public wifi and agreeing to the user agreement? I ask this because I am considering purchasing one for the library I work at. This will allow me to download updates for our games.
