Console cats!

When I was growing up in Russia, one of my friends had a nifty 2D console (at least NES-era, possibly better) that we played every now and then. In one of his games (a side-scroller), you controlled several humanoid cats, each with a different body shape, color, and speciality. I'm fairly certain that one of them could dig. [more inside]

game authoring software for young kids?

My son, who is 10, has been asking me all kinds of questions about creating mods for existing games and writing his own games. I am not a programmer, but I did show him kid's programming language and we're trying to figure it out. Any recommendations for either simple, fun game creation languages or packages that will run on our aging pIII windows machine? There's a lot out there, and I just don't know where to start. Looking for game where you move points of a polygon

Looking for an online polygon point-moving game I used to play but can't find. I think it was in Flash. The game would show a shape in which all lines of a shape were criss-crossed, and you had to drag the points around to move the shape, so that no lines ever crossed.

Scanning XBox disc for bad sectors

Is there any software (preferably for OSX) that I can use to scan a used XBox disc for bad sectors? The format is DVD, so I suppose a normal DVD scanning program could do the job. I just want to be sure that the whole game works before my guarantee expires and I'm unable to return it.
