What's the optimal way to get "Just Dance" on Xbox?

So my kids, like many kids, are (still) addicted to Frozen -- and really just want to play "Frozen" on Just Dance after seeing it at a bday party. As a gamer newbie, how do I get this set up? Buy an Xbox One and... how many versions of "Just Dance" are there? Is each version limited to only certain songs? Uh.. Kinect sold separately? What's the deal with Xbox 360 -- is that totally obsolete now? Can I put Xbox 360 games into an Xbox One and expect them to play? [more inside]

What is the best new video game music to listen to while programming?

I find that video game soundtracks are particularly good background music for programming, but I rarely have time to play new games and discover new music. In the past, I have enjoyed the Superbrothers soundtrack, the soundtrack to Hotline Miami, FTL, certain tracks from Kentucky Route Zero, and the last Deus Ex Machina. Can you recommend post-2014 video game soundtracks that help you to achieve a state of flow?

I need some new ideas for scoring non-competitive fencing nights

I am part of a fencing club that includes a wide range of fencers, some inexperienced, some very competitive, some young teens, some over 60 and lots in between. I have started organizing a monthly "goofball" tournament to bring out the members and to have chances to win prizes and it is going very well. The aim, however, is not to ensure the top fencer always wins -- we have plenty of tournaments for that. What I want is to encourage maximum participation for every fencer to get on the piste and be motivated to fence a lot, and have fun. [more inside]

What are the going rates for online game dialogue writing?

A friends son is very keen on creative writing - he publishes online via Reddit and his own blog. He is currently negotiating with an online gaming company (based in the Netherlands) to write dialogue for their new game that is in development (they send him prompts and basic outlines of the game sequence). Can you give me any advice about the average rates for online writing. Do you you charge by the hour or for a written piece? What would you recommend would be a good rate, considering his age (17) and his skill level (he is still in high school!). From my research I have seen a range of quotes - anything from $20 per hour or $50 per article up to $900 for skilled writers. Any advice much appreciated.

Gaming and Misogyny and 14 Year Old Boys

My 14 year old son and I have been talking a lot this past week about the Anita Sarkeesian videos (we watched a few together) and have been having some really great discussions. We've always talked about what games he can or cannot buy and the reasons for it. I'm really more concerned with the misogyny than the violence, although the violence doesn't thrill me. Looking for good Let's Plays or tutorials that are minimally twitchy

I find a good Let's Play to be soothing and engaging. I like Minecraft best, but am willing to consider other games that have a similar vibe. I am interested in finding good videos that are relatively mature and fun. I would also consider good tutorial series. Currently I have been watching stuff put out by Paul Soares Jr, and I like it. I have not enjoyed anything by stampylongnose because it is too frantic and clownish. I have not found my way into Far Lands or Bust, but am willing to give it a try. Basically I like watching someone go about their business and talk about whatever while they do it. Do you have recommendations? Can you say what you like about your recommended titles?
