OSX games similar to Minecraft/Don't Starve

I like games like Minecraft and Don't Starve, but I'm bored with both of them. Can you suggest games that feature exploration, survival, crafting, and decent graphics, without a ton of fighting or shooting? (I'm on OSX, so that limits things.) [more inside]

PowerPC G4 OSX-native kids games

What are the available OSX native educational kids games that will run on an iMac G4 (I have the 400mhz one)? I bought the Jumpstart games off ebay, but those seem to be ClassicOS games that they just slapped a wrapper on, and as such they don't work very well. 640x480 in a tiny window not-well, for instance. Rain rain go away, although this game is moderately fun to play

Awesome but slightly rambunctious 8th grade class going on a school trip to the country. Rain is possible. Possibility of ultra-rare recreational computer access is likely to be a highly compelling reward for good behavior. The kids speak German. With all of these givens, what non-crack-like game should I install on the beater iBook G3 12" running 10.4 that I'm sending the teacher off with? [more inside]

Scanning XBox disc for bad sectors

Is there any software (preferably for OSX) that I can use to scan a used XBox disc for bad sectors? The format is DVD, so I suppose a normal DVD scanning program could do the job. I just want to be sure that the whole game works before my guarantee expires and I'm unable to return it.
