I like playing L4D with my friends on the other side of the world, but my ping is awful. What are some good, accessible PC games where this won't matter?

My friend is currently out serving somewhere in the middle east for the next six months and would like some new computer games to play. The problem is that he has absolutely no internet connection so anything that needs to go online (eg. multiplayer or - more annoyingly - DRM) won't work. What good games can you recommend I buy and post to him?

Instead of paying high fees to watch my favorite NFL football games on Direct TV, is there a decent software package or Internet subscription to follow my favorite football teams live on the internet? I am willing to pay a small fee for this service. Any assistance would be appreciated.

these people get such high scores on Off-Road Velociraptor Safari? I got 1,000,000 points once when the game crashed mid-jump, but I can't fathom how these guys got scores in the billions!

There are a lot of buzzwords being bandied about regarding the 'viral' 'grassroots' ways that 'Internet 2.0' can be used to 'create a groundswell' through 'guerilla marketing'. What? What do these buzzwords actually mean? After getting vague advice like 'use MySpace' by people with marketing degrees who don't use the internet to market anything, I am interested in cutting through the crap by hearing from real people with actual experience in these matters. How can the Internet be used to promote a site with interactive stuff, games and short film... and little-to-no budget for marketing?

What are fun, real-time game things to play over the internet? I'm in a long distance relaionship and wanting some new things to do together while we're apart.
This site is a great example, where two people can draw together on the same page. Anything remotely like this would be great.
