I'm looking to learn how to calculate probabilities for a multi-round dice game. I've researched this question some, and it looks like I might need to know how to use the multinomial distribution, but I can't find any good introductions. Please point me to the most layman-accessible educational material on this subject, and help me to help myself.

I'm trying to find a computer game I vaguely remember. It was an indie game with I think top down combat with mechs. The main feature I remember was the weapon customization was done by sort of wiring components together in a flowchart. I can't for the life of me remember any more useful details, and it's driving me nuts!

I plan to spend 2 weeks in the west coast to one day move there. I am hoping to travel to various cities and explore video game related places. I want to network and talk to people from all video game walks of life, from indie developers to touring game studios. What places should I visit? What studios does tours?
I was planning to tour around late June, but should I center it around PAX Prime?

I don't get PC game requirements; I seem to have a mental block on the issue, and I don't think I'm going to get it. I've never had one of those fancy "video card" things. HL2 and Portal work great on my laptop, Bio-shock is sluggish to the point where its playable but I won't bother. What games that were state-of-the-art at the time, but are now older, can I play?

Looking for a mid-90s PC puzzle game based on a cube. Holo or Light or something -- New age/tribal music... I don't remember exactly how it worked, but you try to get the marked side of the cube to land face down on a specific square on a grid (I think the location kept moving, though I'm not sure). Anyways, it might have come with my old IBM Pentium as a prepackaged thing. Any ideas?
