I'm looking for recommendations for fun, entertaining, beautiful and immersive FPS games for the PC. Age is mostly immaterial, as long as they're graphically rich, but the one big caveat is that I really don't like horror or bloody violence. [more inside]
When we left our heroine, it was 2002 and she was an avid JRPG player, wise in the ways of the spiky haired menu-based combatants. She returns, older if not wiser, to do battle again, in--okay, wait, what are all these games, and why do they expect me to know how to play them already? Help me find some training wheels, experienced gamer-types. [more inside]

My sister loves playing co-op shooters. Can you recommend any? Our systems are the PS2, and a PC running Windows XP that was middle-of-the-road 3-5 years ago (so no Army of Two, thank you). Freeware/shareware/indie are great, but so are huge blockbusters. It just needs to have as long, good, co-op section.
Half-Life 2 rocks my world. What should I play next? Note: my PC cannot handle much more than Half-Life 2. [more inside]
Are there any FPS-type games other than the early levels of Portal which would be appropriate for my 5-year old? [more inside]
Hope me find an older game with co-operative multi-player. I am looking for older technology games (video cards at least 2 years old) that allow LAN players to team up and fight AI opponents. FPS preferably, but RTS or other game suggestions are welcome. Please don't recommend RPG's this is for casual play without time investment. [more inside]
Did you play first person shooters in the early 90s? Help me figure out the name of this obscure and relatively mediocre WWII game based on the incredibly limited amount of information I remember about it! [more inside]
Freeware or shareware games for old iMac (256MB, either 266 or 333Mhz)? Especially first person shooters?
I'm giving away an old tray-loading iMac (256MB, either 266 or 333Mhz, I really can't recall right now) to a friend and have loaded it up with productivity-related stuff. Now I'm looking for games I can download. Freeware and shareware, preferably, as opposed to warez (although if you care to recommend a NES/SNES/etc. emulator ...). In particular, is there a decent FPS I can download for this machine? [more inside]
