Never-ending winter be damned! I want to think about outdoor furniture, but I'm basically clueless. What holds up well? Dining set-up or lounge? Specific recommendations appreciated! [more inside]

We are getting a new patio soon (woo hoo) and are looking at furniture. We are in favor of using recycled materials, and we are not good at staining/storing our outdoor stuff. Someone told us about polywood (which is made from old milk jugs?) and it looks pretty sharp. All of the polywood sales sites promise 20-year or longer warranties, say that no maintenance is required, and promise that the stuff is basically weatherproof. But I'm skeptical. So, does anyone have polywood furniture? Does it perform as advertised? Is it comfy? Does it look nice? Are there any brands that are clearly better than others?

We are considering the purchase of a set of patio furniture made of "all weather resin wicker" aka "PE Wicker". The stuff is pricey and I have concerns as to it's durability. Do you own outdoor furniture made from this product? How long have you had it? Has it held up well? Would you buy it again? Any tips as to upkeep/maintenance?

My partner and I are considering an apartment that has a private patio that's as large as a room. We'll be furnishing the new place mostly from scratch and would love to get living room furniture and dining set that work equally well on the patio or indoors so we can switch things up a lot. Can you help us find the perfect stuff? [more inside]

Where should I look for reasonably priced replacement patio cushions, or even better replacement cushion covers? [more inside]

Recommendations for futon for backyard? We want to be able to sleep outside during the summer, and fold it into a couch otherwise. Can't seem to find something that seems durable for outside (Southern California), both in terms of the frame and the cushion/mattress. Thanks!

In search of eco-friendly patio furniture. We'd like to get a nice table and four chairs for the pending badass wooden deck in the backyard. Budget would be somewhere in the vicinity of $150-$250. Are we delusional?
