I'm looking for an online or freeware map application that allows me to chart where I know people across the globe. This would serve the same purpose as a paper map on the wall with pins in it but would have more flexibility (zoom-in, link to info about the place etc.) If, for example, I were planning a trip to Thailand, I could open the map app and see that I have a couple acquaintances there and where exactly they live. I want to text message from my PC and I'm not interested in international texting. Is there reliable freeware that doesn't need the carrier of the number I'm texting to, and doesn't load me or the recipient up with spam? I'll even pay for it, but I'm tired of going through my cellphone. Another question is, would the recipient and me get a text charge?

Free autodialer? My son's school, which is financially challenged, used to have an autodialer to update parents on current events. This was great for the community; many parents are overwhelmed, and information isn't always timely when it comes from the kids. Also, 3 of 5 schoolbuses are being cancelled, and it would help coordinate 'walking school buses.' All participation would be voluntary. I've seen some free ones online, but originating in Moscow, McAffee-flagged, etc. Any safe suggestions?

What applications (freeware preferred) to people usually load up on their Windows Mobile (5.0) devices? After many years getting by with a regular cell phone, my company recently switched me to an iPaq (6955). While I dislike the form factor a bit, I like the option of extending functionality with new programs. I just added Google Maps for Mobile, One Note mobile and will soon add MyLifeOrganized mobile (the non-freeware task mgmt tool I use). Any other recommendations?

I'd rather it be a downloadable program and not work online. Can you help me find a good app?
