Our office is setting up a satellite office in Hong Kong. We've always had trouble sending our large 5GB files to Asia. But our office in HK with have a 100Mb internet connection. We have a DS3 in San Francisco. We'll be using a proprietary third-party app to do the heavy lifting. Realistically, what does the hive-mind think we will experience in transfer speeds?

Hello, I'm looking for the locations of where famous crimes in San Francisco took place so I can organize a bicycle ride with some friends to check them out. So far I've come up with 101 california, the location of the last gun deul in califonria by lake merced, and the hibernia bank (patty hearsts bank robbery). any other spots that we should check out would be most appreciated, the more accurate the address, the better.

Boulder vs San Francisco...two worlds, both attractive as hell. I am looking to move to either one of these cities and while I KNOW they are very different (population, landscape, etc) I am torn. Help me understand how a girl in her mid-20s might choose between two fantastic joints. [more inside]

So I get to go to San Francisco/Berkeley for a week over spring break (rather unexpectedly). If it lives up to even a fraction of the hype (it seems to good to be true!) I hope to move out there after college. I've seen the multitude of threads on what to do there, so I'm here to ask what books relating to San Francisco should I read over the next few months to enhance my enjoyment of the trip? Where in the San Francisco/Berkeley area can I get a truly good selection of Bulgarian music?
(By which I mean a BulgarianCDs.com-style selection, not the usual Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares stuff. HMV/Tower-type places probably don't apply.)

A while back, I read a newspaper article about two people, who committed a month (or the summer) to riding every single route on MUNI last year. I think I read it in the SF Gate. Does anyone know where I can find this article, or any other sources for this? Please tell me I didn't hallucinate this, because it sounded cool at the time.

I'm going to be in San Francisco for a conference from 3/14-->3/18, but sadly not the emerging technology conference. Anyway, I was wondering if there is anything like Japan's Akihabara--some sort of dense flea market with strange gadgets and such, that I might visit.
Any sort of robot-themed "performance" involving flammable materials would be cool too, but I've heard that Survival Research Labs isn't allowed to play in the city any longer.
In short, what would be some cool geeky/techy things to do while there that might not be available elsewhere and won't land me in jail? [more inside]
