Contact by Daft Punk supposedly "
contains audio from the Apollo 17 mission used by courtesy of NASA and Capt. Eugene Cernan". The sample says: "Hey Bob, I'm looking at what Jack was talking about and it's definitely not a particle that's nearby. It is a bright object and it's obviously rotating because it's flashing, it's way out in the distance, certainly rotating in a very rhythmic fashion because the flashes come around almost on time. As we look back at the Earth it's up at about 11 o'clock, about maybe ten or twelve diame...Earth diameters. I don't know whether that does you any good, but there's something out there."
When I Google this I find only Daft Punk references. Is it a genuine soundbite from the Apollo 17 mission or did those wacky French robots make it up?

Le Pop Super-Bon! Can anyone suggest French bubble-gum pop that's especially
au courant? Like
Yelle (particularly her first album), only more recent? Stuff good for dancing or for cleaning the house. I've seen
these threads, but they're a bit stale.
Merci à tous!

Any idea how to acquire the source music from the new Scorsese film
Hugo? The stuff the band is playing in the cafe and party scenes, in other words?

Having our Murder Mystery Party tonight, and trying to button up some last minute things. I need some music suggestions for ambiance. The setting is 1930's France, in a casino. Lot's of secret agents and what not.

What is the name of that French song from maybe five years back which had an animated music video of a little girl running through the pastures and playing? After a certain time, she stops playing, and she exits what turns out to be a big stage. A line of children are waiting their turn to enter the stage and play.

A friend of mine has searched for years for a song he heard on vacation in France as a child. He can only remember a part of the chorus, which was "which side of the line are you".

Suggestions of French pop tunes/artists? I know a very kind, lovely 11 year-old girl who is recovering from hip surgery in a dull, rural town. She'll be going to France on an exchange next year, and I'd like to take her there a little early, via a mix-CD. She likes Garbage, Sheryl Crow, Blink 182, Alanis Morrisette and India Arie. Can you help me make something...uh... hip?
