A professional woodworker is finally closing down his shop post post-retirement and finding some large pieces of exotic hardwood e.g. 12'x16"x1.25" rosewood, that have been stacked for decades. CL and ebay don't seem to have much of a market... How would you try to sell these relics?

Someone has been publishing my son’s cell phone number in ads for some land he has for sale. How can we get him to stop doing this? Plus: I know the guy’s first name and where he works and it’s close by. Minus: He insisted in an email that the phone number was his. [more inside]

A friend of mine is trying to sell a piece of scientific equipment online (a UVB sensor and radiometer that is brand new but not returnable; over $2000 retail). Other than eBay, craigslist, or some random Google result, can anyone vouch for a website people use to buy and sell stuff like this?

Selling-Furniture-in-France: Any suggestions for websites to post to to sell furniture in France (specifically in Lyon)? Craiglist, for instance, seems to have a rather small following in this town. Any other thoughts/secrets to selling stuff in France are appreciated.... [more inside]

I just acquired a vintage, fully working Sony reel to reel video tape deck, circa 1973. This deck is from the dawn of the consumer video market.
I have no use for it and would like to sell it. Of course the 1st market to sell it in would be EBay, but I've had less than great results with obscure stuff like this.
Does anyone know of a more topically-appropriate place to advertise this item for sale?
