What kind of travertine is this? We found photos of two floors that we really like, but haven't been able to find anyone selling something quite like it. We're pretty sure it's travertine, but the color and color variations are moderately different than anything I've seen at a store or online.

We rent an apartment and have some pet stains in our hardwood floor. I believe they are too deep to sand out and I think the floor will have to be partially replaced. The damage covers parts of an area about 32" x 36". I'd like to try and take care of it without involving my landlord. Is it possible to replace only part of a hardwood floor? Does anyone know a reputable flooring company in the Chicagoland area?

I just bought a brand new car and wondered about buying clear floor mats.
The car comes with floor mats that are rubber on one side and carpet on the other side and right now I have them turned to the rubber side because we have wet weather.
I live in a drier area of the Pacific Northwest but do not want my carpet dirty when we do get snow and slush.
If I buy clear mats, are the ones at the local car supply store good enough?
some people cut their own from the clear runners you find at office supply stores but that sounds like a pain.
Any advice?
Thank you!

I have laminate floor installed in my condo. We have swelling and warping in various locations, so we filed a warranty claim. As part of the fulfillment process they have requested that a chunk of the floor gets uninstalled and sent to a laboratory for moisture testing. If it turns out that it's our fault we have to pay for the testing. Does anyone have any idea how much something like that costs? If we wanted to dispute their findings, where do I find a lab to do the same testing?
