I've read so much here lately 1 2 3 about not browsing as an admin, decided to check it out and yepper, I surely was using an admin account. I've set up a non admin account, made a few other changes (described inside), hoping to find out from The Hive Mind if I am now safe enough to breathe easy(er). [more inside]

I access many sites using self signed ssl certificates and up until now that was fine but now I have encounter two self signed certs that have the same serial number and firefox wont even let me add an exception. Is there a Firefox (3) extension that will copy to the clipboard a HTML formatted link of the page I am currently on? The Copy Link Text will copy a link to another page, but not for the page itself. I would like to be on the website I want to link to, and have a link copied to the clipboard in the format <a href="PAGE URL" title="PAGE TITLE">Link</a>. Thanks.

I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.14 on a second-generation Macbook on which I just installed Leopard. When I was using Tiger, I could simply go to a URL by typing "apple" or "metafilter" into the address bar. Now I have to enter the .com/.org/etc. at the end, or I get taken to Embarq's annoying search page. How can I fix this?

In Firefox, I use the middle button of my mouse to open links in a new tab. I really wish I could do that with gmail (i.e., middle click on several emails and have them open each in a new tab, or middle click on "compose mail" so that would open in a new tab). Is there any way to do that? [more inside]

Why doesn't Firefox open links that I click? I've noticed over the last several days that when I click on some links the status bar will start going through the motions to connect, but then it will stop dead (it actually says "Stopped" as if I had pushed the stop button before the page had a chance to load). Nothing really happens after that, its as if the click command was lost in transit. [more inside]

I have Firefox 3 color options set so that visited links turn a dark Grey when clicked, every site seems to work with this but the sender and subject lines in Gmail.. What's strange is the links on the left hand side of the Gmail page (Inbox, starred, sent mail, drafts, etc ) go dark when clicked on. Does anyone know if Google uses some special CSS or something on the right hand side, can this be overridden so the visited links will turn the Grey I have checked?

Firefox fails me. I can't figure out why I can hear audio on YouTube, but not see the videos. I just get a big white, empty space where the video should be. What gives? It looks like Flash is installed. Do I need something else?

In Windows Vista, is there a combination of software and settings that will let my Dad play all the media files he wants without further difficulty? I want to set up my Dad's new computer, which runs Vista Home Premium, so that it runs media embedded in web pages, runs standalone files too, and doesn't break Vista's Aero interface. He's not a computer expert, so I want media of all common types to Just WorkTM. [more inside]

Why doesn't Flash work properly in Firefox (WinXP)? When flash is embedded in a webpage Firefox handles it with no difficulty. But when I just want to view the applet itself, without it being embedded I get a message from the program asking me what I want to do with the file and then I get into a loop because it opens another instance of Firefox to handle it! Help! For a few days now, Fox.com keeps loading a tab in Firefox automatically every so often. How do I get it to stop? I tried clearing cookies and stuff, and scanned for malware and found nothing. I also tried reinstalling Firefox since I wanted to upgrade to the latest beta of Firefox 3 anyway. I'm behind a corporate firewall here, so this kinda thing never happens typically. Any ideas?
