Blog has a Facebook group . . . but I think maybe it wants a Facebook page. What is the real difference? Advantages/disadvantages? If I switch from group to page, I'm going to have to start from scratch, i.e. invite everyone all over again, right?

I have a Facebook issue and need advice...this may be coming up more and more, but this is a new issue for me.
I have a new girlfriend, but the the old one and I are now "friends" and they each kinda know the other exists, but don't know each other personally.
I am about to go on a leftover diving trip with the ex as "friends", but have decided to keep everybody in the dark.
So here is the issue...both of them have friended me on Facebook and the question is how/when/should I accept either/both?

Facebook Etiquette Filter: I have Facebook, but don't accept requests from people I've never met, or who I did meet but they were jerks to me. My cousin's Facebook account was compromised and some person or bot is sending spam to his Facebook friend list.
