Automate email to FTP file transfer

I have a vendor that would like me to place a daily report on an FTP server (either mine or theirs, preferably theirs). The only way I can do an automated export of this report is a CSV attachment via email. Is there a way to automate an email-to-FTP file transfer? [more inside]

FTP like solution - but only transfer during the night hours

I'd like to take my older mac mini (10.7.5 is the max OS) and use it for some select file sharing with my family. Ideally, I'd like them to be able to see the file list from several hard drives, mark a file as something they'd like to transfer, and have it transfer only during the evening hours. [more inside]

Help Me Resurrect a Dormant Website

I hired a developer to build a retail website for me in 2011. He did it, but I moved and the MyPhP account he established for me expired. At the time, knowing how life situations can change, I asked him for a copy of the code, which he gave me although he protested because he though I would allow him to host it on his site. We also had a falling out about quality which later, made me glad I had asked for a copy of the code. I know nothing about coding. [more inside]

FTP moves in mysterious ways?

Since about a week my work as a web developer has become incredibly frustrating due to intermittent but very frequent FTP problems. Making small changes in a remote stylesheet has become agony (7 out of 10 times the uploading fails, have to restart software and try again). I cannot find the root cause. It's not the software (tried several different applications), it's not the server (problems occur on all the websites I manage) and it happens on both uploading and downloading. I have turned off firewalls, antivirus software and things like DropBox but all to no avail. I don't have any other connection issues (I'm not on WiFi and web browsing and bittorrent work fine for example). I'm on a 64-bit Windows 7 Professional (Service Pack 1 with all the latest updates installed) laptop. That is the only variable I cannot change, I don't have another computer at hand. Does anyone have an idea what could be causing these problems? Is there something else I could try to fix it?

VPN from home NAS system.

I am trying to set up my router so that I can get at my files on my 3 NAS boxes. These NAS boxes are 1) D-Link DNS323, Infrant ReadyNAS NV+, and a Buffalo TeraStation HD-H2.0TGL/R5. The router is connected to the internet via a home service cable modem so it won't have a static IP and one step is to find the IP address before accessing. I have a router (DLink DGL-4100) which says it can make a IPSec VPN or FTP using a Virtual Server (I think). There would be no other PCs on the network since I would be taking my laptop with me when I access the network. The manuals for the routers talk about FTP serving but if I get a VPN set in my router then I should be able to just browse for whatever I want that way...right? The instructions say it can be done, but how? Please give me step by step instructions the best you can for setting up the router, the NAS boxes and my XP laptop (with suggested software, if necessary) since I have looked all over the internet and can't find anything I can understand. Of course the access should be encrypted and password protected. THANKS GUYS. [more inside]
