Showcasing websites in a print portfolio?

How can I capture my blog pages as images to import into InDesign? (Tryin' to create a portfolio here...) I am a non-designer whipping together a print portfolio in InDesign to submit as part of an application to a design program. As part of this, I'd like to include quality images a couple of websites I created in the past.

I can note the URL on the print portfolio, but it is preferable if I supply a USB key or CD with a pdf of the sites. And I need images of the site for the print portfolio regardless. The problem I am running into is converting a site into a pdf that does not do anything funky with the text or images. Specifically, I have been running into issues with pdfs screwing up the text ("Categories" becomes "C A T E" or the fonts - standard ones like Courier - are switched to Times or the like). The blogs are hosted on TypePad.

Screen shots are suboptimal as the content I'd like to capture in a single go extends beyond the frame of my browser.

If I could figure out how to save the site as XML, it looks like I could then import it into InDesign and create a pdf from there.

Design / web geniuses of MeFi, I thank you in advance for your help!

[igiveupfilter] Trying to export my current wordpress-run blog onto a new wordpress-run blog. I keep getting an XML error that says "XML document must have a top level element. Error processing resource 'file:///C:/Users/damnjezebel/Desktop/wordpress.2008-05-16.xml". I've tried this link which helped me the last time I moved my blog, but that's not working this time. I've tried changing permissions as well and no luck. please help me import my old blog before i pull all of my damn hair out!

How do I automate the exporting of Bloglines Keep New blog posts?

How can I automate the exporting of Keep New blog posts from Bloglines to del.icio.us? Although reading my Bloglines LifeHacker feed is a joy-filled daily ritual. Yet, Gina, Adam, Josh et. al. are the chief contributors to the ballooning number of almost 400 LifeHacker articles in my Bloglines account with the Keep New check box thingy ticked-off.

I am finally convinced I have to use a different method to store Blogline posts for my future reference and review. I would hate to lose LifeHacker goodies or any of my other +/- 1500 Keep New posts because they represent 3 years of meta-aggregation.

As you can imagine, manually exporting a post-per-click with Firefox's del.icio.us add-on is a time-intensive task with a high score on the boring and tedious index.

Perhaps a MeFite King of Kode has already written a script to automate the Bloglines export process while retaining the posts' titles and URLs?

What direction does the hive noggin offer?

OutlookToBlogFilter: How can I move a folders worth of emails onto a MT blog?

OutlookToBlogFilter: How can I move a folders worth of emails onto a MT blog? I'm one of the founders of a Yahoo Group dedicated to sending out quotes, and have an archive of all the posts dating back to its inception in 2000. I'd like to put this online where it can be browsable by submitter (i.e. the person in the "From" line). The most straightforward way, it would seem, would be to find some way to export this folder to a format that can be imported by the MT application?

My Google-fu has failed me, and I'm hoping not to have to cut and paste each of the 3000 posts.

Importing Into MoveableType

I'm looking to import entries from another journalling system into MT, but I lack the scripting skills necessary to convert the entries into an MT-friendly format. [Less inside. Less is more!] These entries are stored in plaintext files, which are named after the date of the entry. There's metadata at the end of the file to tell the journalling software what's up.

As an example, this would be the contents of file 20030908:

Quisque luctus scelerisque lorem. Mauris eget est. Cras at tortor. Suspendisse facilisis pellentesque ante. Vivamus aliquet. Donec nisl. Donec arcu. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit.

Nam quis nulla non nunc viverra euismod. Nam porta libero sed enim. Aliquam erat volutpat. Ut est eros, malesuada ut, feugiat at, accumsan sit amet, lectus.

Nam blandit ligula interdum lacus.
{title=lorem ipsum is rad, man.}
{template=main}
{datestamp=200309080741}

I need a script that will convert a directory full of these files into a format I can pull into MT. Being able to specify the author/category would also be nice, but really all I need is the entry, the title, and the date.

Is this a terribly difficult thing to code up? Should I be offering to pay someone to write it?
