I've recently been "discovered" by some spammers and I need to learn how to create a rule in MS Outlook to either not accept these emails or to move them directly to my junk mail folder. The emails are all from some configuration of @*.* .eu or @*.* .in. Help!
I'm an Israeli citizen completing a Ph.D. in the US. I'd like to move to the EU, and am seeking work there, but I want a Plan B in case I don't get a job offer. Which countries make it least difficult (or even possible) for a foreigner to move there without employer sponsorship and eventually gain permanent residence or citizenship? I would consider entering another degree program in this scenario if student status would help. [more inside]
I will be traveling for 10 days in Germany (2 days), Denmark (2 days), and Sweden (6 days) at the end of this month. Voice and texting is relatively unimportant, but I do need data for maps, keeping in touch with my traveling companions, etc. What's the best way to do this, given that I'm in Greece at the moment and need the SIM card by Friday? Leaving for France and Germany in a week. Returning mid July 2014. My passport expires December 2014. I've read conflicting reports that at least three months from departure and expiration is fine; and that I need six months. Which is which? Do I even have time to get a new passport within a week?

We move quite often - every 2 years or so. I have done it all my life, but usually within the same country.Over the past 5 years that has included 3 different countries, and it looks like for the next 6 years or so we are probably going to live in another 2 or 3 countries. Looking for tips on making our admin and daily living a bit easier. [more inside]

From memory the gist of the law is that a certain portion or percentage of stories in a given time period must promote specified ideas. Those ideas are specified by a European body. The official line is that the law helps to spread important information, by requiring that it is published and broadcast often. [more inside]
I am an American, I was here in Finland on a visa waiver, and now on a temporary waiver extension as I am waiting for my "temporary residence permit" application to be processed. I'd like to open a bank account, but the banks here in Finland won't let me. Is there any bank in the EU that I can open a bank with, but without me having much proof of residence?(I only have a letter from my doctor saying I am here recovering from surgery and doing followups). I am subletting a room in a shared house, and have no official paperwork proving so. Ideally I could open a bank account online in Europe, but I could fly there in person if need be. Thanks.
Like the @Sweden account is shared between Swedes, @i_am_europe is for Europeans. It's a new idea and I'm going to be one of the first, starting 3 February. I'm a journalist covering the EU so there may be some stuff I can do from that, but i'd like to involve people and give it a good start, have you any ideas? [more inside]
We are travelling from Canada to France and Italy and would like to have our roaming charges and calls be as inexpensive as possible. Can someone recommend the best cell phone provider in the EU for both cell phone and data usage where we would buy or get the iPhone 5S SIM card?

So, every time I go looking for recommendations for makeup, etc. (here, and Makeup Alley, mostly), the majority of highly rated items are US products that are usually impossible or expensive for me to get, which is why I'd like your tips for your top-rated favorite bath and beauty items made-locally / available in Europe at reasonable cost. Maybe I can replace a few things, and find some new gems. [more inside]
I will be in Paris for a week and some change between Christmas and New Years. I've been before so I know all the standard tourist spots- but I know the holiday season will mess up openings and closings so I'm interested in fun, interesting things and places ...that will be open. Ideally looking for performances, music, English-language theater, etc. I'll be traveling with a classical musician with a fondness for opera, so looking for things along those lines. Any seasonally specific events or things I shouldn't miss?
My family and I would like to spend an extended time (5-6 months or more) in Europe. My wife is a US/Canadian citizen (the rest of us are Dutch citizens), and that seems to present a problem if we want to stay more than 90 days, which is the maximum length of Schengen tourist status. I'm not getting very far trying to figure out if and how that time can be extended. The process seems to vary from country to country. We're pretty flexible about which countries we stay in, so which countries make this relatively easy and cheap? [more inside]

My parents are leaving from the US on a trip to Europe, entirely within EU Schengen Area countries. They've been requested to bring ginseng and beef/pork jerky by family. I don't think the jerky is admissible, but what about the ginseng? Port of entry will be Amsterdam Schiphol. [more inside]

Where can I find a central hub of all the products and chemicals banned or being phased out by the European Union? Which particular countries are ahead of the EU? (e.g., banning even more instead of waiting for EU consensus, all in the interest of public health or due to inconclusive info about these kinds of products) Please provide links to detailed lists for those.

Help me understand what seems like a contradiction: News stories I read seem to depict there being quite a lot of immigration into EU countries, and attendant unrest over cultural factors. But while a lot of people I know say they would love to move to Europe, the few who've actually done research into it seem to indicate that it's nearly impossible to get in unless you're wealthy or in a select few professions. How do middle and lower class people actually immigrate to Europe? [more inside]
