I'm not on Facebook and don't want to be. Nonetheless, everytime my Droid boots up, it informs me my Facebook login failed. How do I stop my Droid from trying to log me into Facebook and sending me irritating messages about it?

I think that Google Listen, as far as a podcast app for Droid goes, is the suckiest bunch of suck that ever sucked. Is anyone else able to make it work for them? Or can you recommend a better podcast app for my Droid?

I use google voicemail on my Motorola Droid. When someone leaves a message that includes a phone number that is different from the number they're calling from, google does a good job of transcribing it. As far as I can tell, however, there's no simple way of calling back that spoken, transcribed number. Instead, I have to memorize it, switch over to phone and key it in (and forget a few digits and switch back and forth and crash the car etc). I feel like maybe I'm just missing something simple, but I'm coming up empty searching for an answer. Does anyone know if it's possible?

cell phones-- is reception related to the phone itself (I'm assuming the antenna/transmitter within the phone?) or only the physical location of the caller? Help me pick a smartphone & carrier please!

I'm an old guy, so be patient. I have the cheapest verizon plan I could find. It is around $39/month. I am somewhat taken with the new droid phone. I find the verizon site very confusing. I would like to get a droid with a new 2 year plan as cheaply as I could. Amazon advertises the droid for $20 with a new 2 year plan. Does the hive have any idea what plan I should get and as cheap as possible.

Got my Motorola Droid. Love my Droid. However, Verizon's impressive map doesn't seem to include the cell phone black hole which is my neighborhood. I was hoping to hook my Droid to our home wireless network to avoid the slow connection problem, and dutifully inputted our WEP key, but all efforts to get the Droid on home network have been a bust. I did check the Droid user forums and download a couple of apps -- still no luck. What else can I do besides return my Droid? (Which ain't gonna happen.)

I took a look at the Droid and am very tempted. Have a Blackberry Curve which is fine, but I'm due to upgrade anyway. My contract with AT&T (blech) runs out in October, cancellation fee isn't much. Droid should save me $50/month I'm currently spending to keep my Curve synced with my work Outlook.
What think you, hive mind? I know there are a lot of MeFi Droid owners. I trust you
way more than Amazon reviewers.

Are you considering the iPhone or the Droid? Which one did you get and how did you decide? I am already a Verizon customer; also my sister has an iPhone and is willing to add me to her plan if I choose the iPhone.

I am looking for (recent) experiences with Android options for VoIP over WiFi to deal with places where I have a WiFi signal, but no 3G/voice signal. I'm looking for solutions for two situations:
(1) In one of my labs at work, there is plentiful WiFi coverage, but no cell/data signal. I'd like to be able to make outgoing calls, and I'd also prefer if I could receive incoming calls.
(2) For international travel, it would be nice to have a way of making calls at least where WiFi is available.
