Doctor Who Typography, couldn't think of a Doctor related pun

Call the MetaFilter Typography brigade! Information desired on typography of past and present Doctor Who logos. Specifically I'm interested in the first 3 lines or so of this page of past and present logos.

Particularly interested in knowing the names of the fonts for the first and second ones.

Many thanks!

More Doctor please.

[DoctorWho filter] What else would you recommend for a family that has watch the new series together but wants more Doctor Who? General DVD, book, comic book, etc recommendations dealing with the Doctor Who universe are highly encouraged, but I do have a specific question inside.

Key points I'd like to learn: Are there any books, comics (or videos that I missed) that detail the events leading to the demise of the Time Lords? How about The Doctor or The Master picking their names?

How can my current hair become David Tennant's hair?

So I always have boring haircuts. Standard businessman cut type. Cause I'm lazy and hate having to do anything with it in the morning. And this morning I realized it is now at the point where it needs to be cut as it's looking, well, like it needs to be cut. (How it looks right now: me1,
me2,
me3, though for some reason in the pics it looks a lot less in need of cleanup than it does in real life.)

So I'd like to do something a bit more interesting, a bit more daring. Not much, but a little. I'm kind of in a turning myself around mentally state, and it's passing over into things like this. And you know what style (roughly) I like? David Tennant-ish messy. Seen here and here.... But here's my question: My hair probably CAN'T do that now. The length isn't nearly enough, the current cut can't be reshaped into that, etc. etc. So what do I tell my hairstylist to get a hair cut that looks decent now, maybe even with that same messy feel, but lets it evolve into either that or something that can be cut to that down the line?

(Also note that I'm in suburbia, so my choice of places is somewhat limited to barber shop and low-rent salons)

When something bad happens to Doctor Who, why doesn't he just go back in time and fix it?

DoctorWhoFilter: When something bad happens to the doctor, why doesn't he just go back in time and fix it? He doesn't seem to have a problem with fiddling with time, so why not? Just finished watching the end of the second season of the revised Doctor Who. It was a great episode but it got me thinking... When bad things happen (or an episode doesn't go his way), why doesn't the doctor just use the TARDIS to go back in time and try again?

SPOLIERS: The thought that made it come into my head was when Rose was falling towards the void, and I thought "Well, if she goes in, he can just go back and catch her next time"... Now, in that case Pete caught her anyway, but I can think of many other times, even just from this season, where it would seem to make sense for the Doctor to go back and fix things... (ie. why not take Elton back and rescue the "real" Ursula before she was absorbed, rather than giving him a paver; why not go back and rescue some of the people that died in "Satan's Pit", or stop Toby from infecting the ood so the base wouldn't blow up?)

I know the final answer is "because it wouldn't make good TV", but I'm wondering if, in the many years Doctor Who has been on, whether they've addressed this issue?

Any Doctor fans out there who can provide some insight, or even non-doctor fans who have a theory? :)

(PS. I know this is an odd AskMe question, but I can't get anywhere with google and I figured Christmas is a good time for silly questions!)

Where can I get an awesome retro-military coat like Captain Jack Harkness?

Where can I get an awesome retro-military coat like Captain Jack Harkness? Now, here's the difficult part - I'm sure similars can be found in Army/Navy stores, and I've even seen some vaguely similar at a few while looking, but I'm, well, not a small man.

6'1", and, let's just euphemistically say I'm not as thin as I was in MY army days by a long shot.

So I'm hoping someone knows of a source that carries more than just the odd one or two, and might have enough of a selection to be able to find one for me.

Christmas Invasion

In the 2005 episode of Doctor Who titled The Christmas Invasion there was a song near the end that starts "Well I woke up today". The song takes place as The Doctor's 10th personality is choosing his outfit from the stores in the Tardis. Can this song be had in it's entirety anywhere?
