DIY Matchstick Bamboo Blinds?

I'm looking to install roll up bamboo blinds on a very wide, but short, length of windows. It would be very expensive to order them to spec, and I'm looking into making my own. The mechanism is very basic, and I imagine the material is very cheap. I just can't find shades on their own, not pre-assembled. [more inside]

tips/tricks/product suggestions for DIY hair color?

I haven't colored my own hair in over 10 years, and the last time I did I used salon products sold to me by my hairdresser. Those products aren't available to me now, so I'm looking for a decent store-bought brand (or at least something available to non-professionals). [more inside]

Modding a Toyota RV

I was given a 1984 Toyota RV that is in rough shape cosmetically, but is a strong running chasis. It has the legendary 22r engine (with low miles), a 6 bolt rear axel and a dual battery setup. The living quarters are a little run down. I am wondering if there is any information on how to strip it down to the frame and if there are any examples of rebuilding a new structure using modern materials?

Doohickey for creating an even hairline on the neck: what's it called?

I used to see advertisements for a plastic guard/doohickey to allow one to trim one's own hairline in the back (with electric clippers) and create a straight, even line. It was basically a piece of plastic you place against your hair/head, and then you'd clip hair on your neck up until that piece of plastic. It was *not* something that attaches to clippers in any way. What are these called, and where can I buy one? [more inside]

Up the ladder, down the ladder, up the ladder...

Does anyone make a pocket sized or keychain sized continuity tester? I'm often up on a ladder holding what looks like a perfectly good lamp or fuse in my hand and it would be nice to just pull a simple circuit tester off my belt or keychain instead of running to the next room to get it. The usual suspects, thinkgeek et all, have proved less than useful. Any thoughts or suggestions?
