I want to learn how to personally repair a Canon 5D with an internal power problem. What resources should I look into in order develop this skill set? I do not care that this is silly, uneconomical idea. I am also well aware of the fact that developing this skill set will not be overnight. [more inside]

Are laptop keyboards really as easy to replace as the do-it-yourself articles make it sound? [more inside]

Can anyone offer me some suggestions for how to make a relatively inexpensive sound trap (i.e. like those echo reducers that large auditoriums have). Info about materials, shapes, etc. would be helpful. [more inside]

What's the plastic wrapper thing on the end of a shoelace called? Usually the first thing to go and almost always requires buying new laces. Is there a company that provides JUST those things?

I'm researching architecturally designed garden workspaces which don't usually require planning permission along similar lines to this
. I know I've seen some really nicely designed examples on the web in the past but I can't seem track them down. Preferably based in the UK, but international examples would be useful for reference as well. Do you know of any good examples, or had experience of putting one up?

I have an old house with lathe plaster. There are rooms that have had peeling paint that just got painted over a few times in the distant past. I do not much like the way it looks, and I would like to expose the bare plaster and start fresh. Is there any way to remove all this paint? I do not want to sand the ceilings of such large rooms, as I feel I will get tired of that real easy. I have not seen any solvent that lists paint on plaster as an appropriate use. I am quite confident that the plaster itself is sound and uncracked. Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you are my only hope.
