I'm looking for a simple way to textually describe data models, and can then produce something visual (an SVG, a PNG, etc.) An analogy would be how "Markdown" is a markup language that allows you to write something in plaintext, that can be converted to HTML. [more inside]

What's the cheapest and easiest way to get a business's credit report? It's my business (USA corporation.) I'm mainly interested in the overall score and the list of items affecting the score more than the details of each item.

Help me understand the difference between 28dB, 38dB and 48dB.
I'm thinking about buying a fridge, and the fridges I'm considering have noise levels ranging from 28dB to 47dB (according to the latest fridge assessment in Choice
Fridges with a 28dB noise level rating are too expensive for me, though, so I'm trying to find something I can afford but which won't annoy me too much (I'm sensitive to the noise of a buzzing fridge). What I can afford tends to be somewhere in the mid-30s dB range.
But it's no use going into a noisy showroom and trying to properly gauge how a fridge will sound in my quiet home. So I'm wondering if there's a way I can test these different noise levels at home before I buy, to see what's the difference.

What is the best way to close-out a Deutsche Bank account to dollars (US citizen)? I have a Bank of America account so that I could withdraw the cash from a BoA ATM in installments and then close the account but I am currently in Germany: would I lose anything by just dealing with the account while I am here? Bonus: Can I suspend the account at 0 balance so that it would be easier to re-open it?

What does Dn,e W dB indicate exactly?
It is a measurement that refers (apparently exclusively) to the acoustic attenuation performance of "trickle vents". [more inside]

What is best method to create a non-techy local interface for a 40M+ record database that I'd like to host on my web server? I'd like to regularly import new data, crunch it, and export specific CSV reports (which will be much smaller than 40M rows). [more inside]

DatabaseFilter: I know more about Access than the average person, but I'm at the point where I need to know more than what I am finding on the Access db sites and in books. I need a faster and more reliable response than I would get from posting on forums. [more inside]

When using sony sound forge, is it possible to get the actual data from the spectrum analysis graph (amplitude vs frequency in tabular form).
And part 2 to my question is, when using sound forge spectrum analysis, if i take a particular frequency and amplitude, how do i calculate relative dBA levels from the chart data. [more inside]

I have a MySQL database that contains two fields - name and e-mail - for a bunch of records. Separately I have a FileMaker 7 database that contains the same fields - name and e-mail - and
contains other fields, like "notes".
My question: can the FileMaker database, after polling the MySQL database, show name and e-mail as read-only; and then show the other fields as editable? i.e. if I make a change to the MySQL database, can I get it to show up in FM? [more inside]
