Identify this Latin (Cuban?) Song Performance

I heard a song playing on the sound system in a restaurant that I would like to track down if I can identify it. It was sung in Spanish, in a Cuban musical style (similar to the more ballad-like tracks on many of the Buena Vista Social Club artists' records). The vocalist was most likely male, singing in that kind of 1930's/40's croony sound with a high tenor with lots of vibrato, or possibly a woman with a lower voice. What was distinctive about the track is that it prominently featured a cello, which is not something I'm used to hearing in Latin music. I do not know if it was actually an old song or a modern pastiche, and I didn't get any lyrics.

Cuban Cuisine/dinner party/roasted pig

Suggestions for authentic, delectable, non-time invasive Cuban food, fun, and festivities. we have a dinner party for a baker's dozen every week. we have never done Cuban, and so I proposed it for this Saturday. Roasted pig is already on the menu. I have 3 DVD's of Cuban music, 10 CD's, and 7 cookbooks. However. I want to ask, at this late hour 30 mins before bedtime, if anyone has suggestions. Mainly a recipie you've used (not one you find on the net, I have hundreds), specific music, and, perhaps, cigar suggestions.
How can we make this awesome for less than 150 bucks?

More than mojitos...

Help me plan my Cuban party! I have enough mint to make mojitos for an army, so I'm throwing a Cuban party. So far I've got...

Mojitos
Cigars
Flan
Ropa Vieja
Dominoes

I've also seen this thread with some cuban recipes. 'What other suggestions do you have for food, drinks, decorations, activities, etc?

I need my cafe con leche. Help me make it.

Help me replicate my beloved cafe con leche. The only thing I miss about my eight years in Miami are the beach, my roommate's dog and the ungodly amounts of Cuban-style cafe con leche I consumed. I want to make it at my new home here in Phoenix but my efforts haven't turned out at all like the stuff I got at the cafes in Miami. What am I doing wrong? Should I be looking for a certain brand of coffee?

Cuba Libre!

What's your favorite Cuban meal? CubanFoodFilter: I’m throwing a dinner party for a friend who will soon be spending time doing research in Central / South America. I’ve been told that she loves Cuban food but I’ve never made it before. Can you suggest some authentic Cuban recipes that are not too hard to make?

I have a some idea of what I want to make but please share recipes that you’ve enjoyed making before. In particular, I’m looking for at least one vegetarian recipe (which isn't a salad) and dessert ideas.

Must...not...kill...nephews

Best cuban food in Ft Lauderdale? Things to do while in town? Next week my wife are joining the rest of my family for a week in a Ft. Lauderdale. There's going to be 6 adults and 2 four-year-olds sharing a 3 bedroom house.

Needless to say, I'm looking for some activities that will get me away from the group. My wife and I both love cuban food, so I'd love to sneak out with her for dinner one night. The rest of my family thinks Taco Bell is too exotic, so it shouldn't be a problem getting away.

Any recomendations?

What was it like for those in and around cuba between the revolution and the missile crisis.

What was it like for cubans, and foreigners visting / working in cuba between the time of the revolution and the missile crisis. I'm basically wondering what restrictions there were on travel and what happened to academics / scientists who were working there, or people (americans / europeans) who owned businesses there.

The types of things I'm looking for are either history books that deal with the missile crisis from a standpoint that is less political and more about what it meant to ordinary people in cuba and the U.S., or fiction that takes place during this time.

The absolute perfect source would be a work of fiction or a non-fiction in more or less diary form written by a foreigner who watched it all happen and relates it in fine detail.

Cuban music streamer?

¿Dónde puedo encontrar algunas corrientes cubanos de la música? (mi funcionamiento del gusto a la materia a partir de los años '40 con los años '60 tempranos y al sonido Yankee-amistoso del faux-retro que usted todo sabe de esa película.) [ más adentro ] Any goofiness in the Spooglish is a result of my having used the Googlefish.

En Ingles:

Where can I find some Cuban music streams? (My tastes run to stuff from the forties through the early sixties and to the Yankee-friendly faux-retro sound you all know from that movie.)
Can I save my dried-out cigars?

I have some cigars I received as a gift a few weeks ago. I didn't place them in a humidor (I didn't have one) and are now they are all dried out. Will putting them into a humidor and rehydrating them return any sort of quality back to them? Is it worth it?
