I'm interested in booking a cruise with some friends for a New Year's Eve vacation. What cruise lines and ships do you recommend, and given the holiday, what recommendations do you have to make the trip affordable, since it seems that most lines have marked up sailing dates around the holidays?

I've never been on a cruise, but will be going on one next year...would appreciate any cruise "hacks" I should take into account as a first timer. The cruise is on the Mediterranean and will be 9 days.

Say you're on a cruise ship in the middle of the Atlantic and something happens and it capsizes. How long would you have to be out there until the Coast Guard rescues you? Hours? Days? How fast can those big helicopters get to you? I am talking middle of the ocean here. Thanks.

So next week, my girlfriend and I are going on a cruise for our third year anniversary booked through Royal Caribbean that leaves from Florida and stops at Labidee, Haiti; Falmouth, Jamaica; George Town, Grand Cayman; and Cozumel, Mexico. This is my first cruise, and my girlfriend’s eighth cruise. We have already booked awesome excursions in Labadee (parasailing!), George Town (turtle farm and stingray city!), and Cozumel (snorkeling boat tour!), but we are unsure what to do in Falmouth since it’s a relatively new port. The Costa Concordia; what happens next? How will the ship be removed?
Rescue efforts were suspended indefinitely on Monday after the stricken cruise liner slipped on its rocky resting place and settled farther into the water, according to the firefighters heading the operation... Mr. Foschi also said the vessel was carrying 2,300 tons of fuel but there were no signs of leakage so far.

After two years of savings, my wife and I are going on a a cruise to the Western Caribbean. Islands we are stopping at are St. Maartens, St Thomas, and San Juan. I would like to know if there are UNIQUE places, restaurants, shopping or fun things we can do on each island. I am not necessarily looking for the "canned" trips organized by the cruise lines. Both my wife and I are in our 60's so mountain climbing, ect would be a bit too much for us.

I am planning a Caribbean cruise for my wife and myself. I am using a Cruise Travel Company with a good reputation. This agency has quoted me prices for several cruises. Besides attempting to negotiate better pricing and a room upgrade, are there any other amenities I am overlooking that would further enhance this cruise? Any suggestions for this negotiation would be appreciated. Thanks in advance...

We're setting sail from San Diego on May 25 for a cruise, but we have two days in San Diego beforehand. How can we work the transportation to Sea World and the wild animal park before our cruise while not being stuck going all the way back to the airport for a rental car? Is there a better area to stay or a better way to arrange transportation to support this?
