I wish I could forget about the girl who broke my heart when I was a teenager, but it seems the world doesn't want to let me, because she's famous now, while I'm struggling. How do I deal?

My boyfriend has talked about us separating, but it seems like he still wants to be with me. I think he's overanalyzing our relationship to death, and I want to talk to him about how relationships take work and we should refocus on what's important to us, but is that true? How would that look, what would we do?

I know someone who is the kind of person who ought to receive a Macarthur Fellowship—those no strings attached grants commonly known as the "genius grants." This person is, by any definition, a "talented individual who ha[s] shown extraordinary originality and dedication in their creative pursuits and a marked capacity for self-direction." Beyond the fact that I wouldn't know how to bring this person to the attention of the nominators for that particular fellowship, the person I know is a Canadian citizen, and does not live in the US, so is ineligible for the Macarthur grants. Are there any similar (if less awesome) grants in Canada? The person I have in mind is a traditional artisan.

Help name this event:
It's a day long event starting with an art show, leading into an evening of music and experiential art, and it's aim is to celebrate the creative works of those with mental illness. The higher goal is to destigmatize mental illness and educate attendees about the services available in the community.

Hi all--
I am a female writer with a high sex drive. With most of my moods, I have figured out how to use the energy of anger or sadness or whatever to write something borne from it. But when I'm feeling horny, I really don't know what to do with it, aside from write about sex, and I want to be able to do more than that. This may sound like a silly inquiry, but I'm wondering if other artistic sorts have dealt with it.

My mom just had her third surgery to repair hip tendons and its expected that she will not be able to go anywhere without 2 crutches for 6-8 weeks. Besides limiting mobility, it also means that she won't be able to cook for some time--her lifelong passion and joie de vivre, besides plants.
If she were nearby i would go spend time with her, but she's across the Atlantic (France, I'm in the US).
I'm trying to think of ways to cheer her up, make life easier, ease the tedium.

CHALLENGE TIME! You are lent some expensive, professional grade video equipment for 18 hours and told that you may use it as you see fit in the time you have. Assuming little to no preparation beforehand, what do you do and/or film with it? Ideally you'd like the owner (or anyone else who sees your work) to be mildly impressed, knowing that you have no actual solo film making experience whatsoever.

I'm bipolar and I started taking Lamictal and Seroquel around a year ago. I'm in my second year at art school after taking a year out due to depression.
I'm finding it very hard to be creative this year. I used to instantly think of a million ideas as soon as I was given a brief, now it takes me days to come up with one. I'm also finding it very difficult to draw which used to be one of my strengths. My first semester assessment is in few weeks and I'm kind-of ashamed of what I'm handing in.
I've heard bipolar meds can effect peoples's creativity, has anyone else experienced this? Is there anything I can do about it short of coming off the meds (which I definitely don't want to do)?

I would like to display as many as I can without being obnoxious but I'm looking for fresh ideas. What are some interesting, space saving artistic ways I can use and display my sea of memories?

As I head into the darkness of winter in Northern England, I'm starting to notice the same pattern I suffered from last year...sleeping even less than I normally do (4-6 hours instead of 6-7). I'm not even sleepy or remotely tired until 2, 3, sometimes even 4 am, when I force myself to fall asleep. I wake up at 8 or 9 (sometimes earlier). What could be happening here, physiologically or otherwise? If it's related to the lack of sun/light, how does that even work?
