I'm based in Scotland, and looking for clever ways to raise more money for a charity music show I am putting on. I'm going to see the Night Marchers in Bristol this evening and my tickets say it starts at 7.30. I've been to two other shows in Bristol (at different venues) and they both said they'd start at 7.30 but the bands didn't start playing until around 9. Is this a standard thing for small rock shows? I don't want to show up at 7.30 and have to wait around for an hour and a half.

So this past May, Bruce Springsteen walks into a bar...and joins Mike Ness onstage. They crank out a couple of tunes, but apparently there's no decent audio/video of the event (that I can find, anyway). Curious if anyone out there has come across a recording of this event? Their version of "Ball and Chain" would be of most interest to me.

On BBC Radio 6 a few days ago, probably sometime late at night or early in the morning in British time (I was listening in the afternoon in the US) they were playing a concert recording of an artist who’s volcal style resembled a less coherent Amy Winehouse. One of the songs used part of tchaichovskys Romeo and Juliet for a hook, and it was all mostly soul/R&B type music. Any ideas what it was?
