Computer games advice please! I want to get back into playing computer games after a long hiatus (since the mid 90s!!) so I need your advice.
If I buy game CDs on Ebay/Amazon or the like, how do I tell if they are legit or bootleg copies? I want to stay away from shady business!
Why are sites like Steam and Good Old Games so cheap? Are they scams? What does a subscription service actually mean?

Looking for a mid-90s PC puzzle game based on a cube. Holo or Light or something -- New age/tribal music... I don't remember exactly how it worked, but you try to get the marked side of the cube to land face down on a specific square on a grid (I think the location kept moving, though I'm not sure). Anyways, it might have come with my old IBM Pentium as a prepackaged thing. Any ideas?

I want some computer games that have high replayability, are relatively cheap (0-20$ CAD/USD), NOT need a CD to play, and most importantly, take up as
little hard-drive space and processor power as possible. Possible examples including good pieces of IF (especially mystery, who-killed-X ones), Fallout 2, Rogue-likes, games of the lightweight Boomshine/Peggle/Bejweled group, any RTS or turn-based strategy games, and anything by Nifflas.
