I just got laid off from my job. Considering that I haven't worn my gold college ring in close to two decades, I'd like to sell it. However, the various "send us your gold" services advertised on television supposedly pay far below the market rate, and there's no New York City-style gold and jewelery merchants in the area. So, where can I sell a gold ring in Cleveland, and get a fair price for it?

Burning river filter: in the Cleveland area, there's a plethora of über-hipster joints and loud party bars catering to college students and members of Generation Y, and gin mills for the old-school union card-carrying blue-collar crowd. However, I haven't been able to find a place where a professional in their 30s or 40s would feel comfortable, especially on the East Side/[fill in the blank] Heights area. Does such a place exist? Better yet, does such a place exist that doesn't play music at ear-deafening volumes?
