I'm thinking of moving from Firefox to Chrome on my work and home Windows PCs. I'm confused by bookmarking in Chrome, however. Can you help?

I'm a recent Chrome user, and so far I'm having a hell of a time with the privacy settings. I like the idea of using the synch feature so I can have my bookmarks and things shared across the three or four desktops I use. However, I can't seem to figure out how to make it so it doesn't sign in automatically when I open the browser - I would like to be prompted to put in a password every time.
I feel really stupid, but I can't figure out how to make that happen.

I use Chrome at work, and usually open up the same set of five or six websites every day, multiple times a day. I do not store non-work-related bookmarks on this browser, so I have to load the sites up manually every time. Is there a simple, one-click method of opening up multiple bookmarks in Chrome without having those bookmarks saved in the browser?

This has happened twice now, and it is freaky. Google chrome on the iMac I use in my office at work (at a university) will have usernames and passwords for people who have never been in my office ever. The first time it happened it was my father's email, and the second time it was my stepmother's. Why would chrome be filling in these odd emails when it doesn't even save my own login information after closing the browser window?

I was having trouble with my iMac computer lagging and one of the things I did was restart in Safe mode (holding down shift). It now seems to be ok. I also have mediocre vision so have resolution at 1280 x 800 as my usual preference. The Issue: since the safe boot, Chrome pages go to a white screen after a few seconds on most sites such as Facebook and Amazon among others. I see old posts on Google but no real fixes. I looked at many google help links like
this among others. Has anybody else had this problem? (Chrome does this when I change the view back to a more usual setting like 1344 x 840, for example. Any thoughts?

I use (and love) Google Chrome both my home (Mac) and work (Win 7, 64-bit) computers. But in the last few weeks Chrome has become nigh-unusable. Basically, what's happening is that ~20 minutes after opening the browser, an attempt to access any new domain will a) take forever and b) freeze up the other tabs, so that they won't scroll or allow text selection. Restarting Chrome fixes the problem, but only for another 20 minutes or so.
I've tried the various Flash fixes out there and nothing has worked; this has only been a problem in the last few weeks or so. Please help, I really don't want to go back to firefox. Thanks!

I have a MacBook Pro with all software updated. I have been using Google Chrome as my browser for the last year or so. I also have Google Chrome installed on my Iphone 4s, but rarely use it.
For the first 6-7 month, my bookmarks synced fine between the devices and my Google accounts. About 2-3 months ago, I have started to notice that bookmarks I have deleted have started to show up in Chrome again, sometimes multiple times...
I delete the unwanted bookmarks again, and they re-appear several days later. I have 'googled' my problem and it seems many people have/are experiencing this issue...

Would the Chromebook be right for me as a writing device? I'm looking to replace my old netbook I use for writing with something more swish and it looks to fit the bill, however I'm not a Google Docs user - how easy is it to transition to from using OpenOffice/Word? How well does the local storage/offline working option work? How easy is it to export Word files and how well does formatting carry over? Is there anything else i need to know?

I have a form with some html5 date input fields. I use the jquery UI datepicker to get it working on browsers that don't support type="date".
Everything's lovely in IE and Firefox. Chrome is behaving oddly. It displays both the jquery datepicker and (I assume) its own html5 picker. It won't display the value I'm giving it correctly, and whatever you put in the input (using the chrome picker because it won't accept input from the jquery one...) it returns 0/0/00.

Google Chrome incognito mode help. I have Chrome set up to start in incognito mode. However, it frequently seems to revert to standard mode. I have ruled out interference from other users. I suspect, but don't know for sure, that it may be caused by spammy websites spawning new non-incogito windows. Is this likely to be the case, and if so, how do I stop it? I'm running Win7 home premium SP1.

Help! I deleted most of my Chrome bookmarks (imported from Firefox, a few months ago, but edited quite a bit) when I was trying to rename that Folder. Is it possible to recover? Some will be in history, but what a job. I had resorted to a google search for how to edit bookmark folders, and found something awkward using left click (actually control-click on the Mac), and thought I was deleting a character , and boom, whole folder gone. I'm on an Imac running OS 10.5.8, if that is relevant.

I'm using Chrome (14.0.835.202) on os x (10.7.2). For a while now, I've noticed that, typically, when I do a google search, wanting to just check the wikipedia page for that search term, I type the term in, along with the word wikipedia (such as "whatever wikipedia") in the past this always brought me to a search page with the whatever wikipedia page as the first hit, and now the following happens: for a second or two I get a result page that will show, as the first search item, the wikipedia page for "whatever," but, within a couple of seconds, the search result page changes (with my doing nothing) with other search results at the top (I just went through the first 8 pages of search results for "metafilter wikipedia" and the metafilter wikipedia page doesn't show up at all (although it did flash for a second before that result page refreshed and changed without being asked to!). This used to work like a charm for me, what's changed and how can I change it back?
