My girlfriend and I live in Portland, Oregon. We'd like to take a week-long vacation over Christmas, and are looking for somewhere to visit in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, BC, or western Montana. We're looking for someplace romantic-ish where we can be active and adventurous, but also curl up together to read. The rub? We'd prefer it weren't too crowded. We're willing to spend up to $150/night, though we'd prefer to pay $120 or less. Any suggestions?

I am designing my own holiday cards, with pictures of my family on the front. They are awesome looking so far, and I am really excited. A blank space on the back of the card is what I'm trying to fill; a 5" wide area, about 4-5 lines in 10-12 pt font.

I'm looking for the best time to book a flight from NYC to Honolulu for Christmas -- I'm afraid I've already missed the best deals and wonder if I should snatch up the next decent fare or wait for something better. [Of course, special snowflake details inside.]

Christmas carols for pagans? Mentions of Yuletide, Solstice and winter are excellent, Santa is fine, Christmas is fine, but I'm looking for beautiful music (choral and orchestral) that has no mention of Jesus Christ, Israel or saints.

Can you recommend any good, relatively clean, satirical "true story"/"Biography"-type humor writings, videos, skits, etc about Santa, and/or perhaps other Christmas characters like Rudolph or Frosty?

My wife and I moved into a new house this year, with a different mailman and a different UPS driver. Since we just had our first baby, all of our holiday shopping has been online. To express our thanks for their efforts, we bought some gourmet chocolates from a local chocolate shop for them, and left a nice card attached to both. Neither was accepted, just left sitting where we left them. Did we run afoul of some UPS and USPS regulation, or was it a crappy gift?

Christmas Day Entertainment Help
Per tradition, my family of 4 (2 kids 2 and 5 years old) needs to perform some brief (5-15 minute) skit or performance at an large family gathering. Past years has been caroling, cooking demonstrations, magic. Running out of fun ideas. Anyone have some suggestions that would be easy to pull off. Humor a plus, as is involvement of the wee ones.

Is there either a Web site or an app for iPhone or iPad that allows you to track the sending and receiving of holiday cards? (If not, there should be!) I see apps that allow you to send e-cards, but I'm sending paper cards. I would love to be able to open my mail, phone in hand, and just type into the phone that I received cards from X, Y and Z so I know to send them cards as well. Not finding anything. I've done this on paper for years, but it seems like someone should have made an electronic easy version by now.
