RER open in Paris on Christmas Day?

Two questions about Christmas in Paris, France. First, will the Metro and - crucially - the RER line be open on Christmas Day? Secondly, can anyone suggest great things to do that will definitely be open in Paris on Christmas Eve?

How to plan a trip for a game demo?

I'm the co-creator of a new party game and my co-creators and I are stationed out of Madison. We've been invited to demo the game by an enthusiastic game store owner a few towns away, and so we've been wondering whether it makes sense to arrange a tour of the area metropolises (Minneapolis, Milwaukee, maybe Chicago). We're ramping up to the Christmas shopping season, and the game is going to start appearing at Barnes & Nobles soon, so on the one hand it seems like if we arrange something in advance with a store and simply show up there on the scheduled weekend, there's going to be a crowd, and we can try to attract shoppers' attention. But we can also perceive such a tour where we've planned it terribly, there's no store traffic and we've squandered our time and money. So: How to plan such a trip? [more inside]

Help me find family-friendly winter holiday festivals and celebrations in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama to be held this year (2007-2008)-- especially non-Christian celebrations like those celebrating Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, or just winter itself. Christmas Every Day, but Maybe Not This Year

Years ago my wife and I read a story by Heinrich Böll which I remembered being titled "Christmas Every Day," but its real title is apparently Nicht nur zur Weihnachtszeit (Christmas Not Just Once a Year). This year we'd like to read it to our son, who is now old enough to appreciate its black humor. I thought this would be easy to find in print or online, but I've looked up web and down Foyles, and have had no luck. Can anyone tell me the name of an anthology where the story appears ... or scan it and be my friend forever?

When's best to get the train home for Christmas?

When will the UK passenger rail service, particularly journeys on Virgin Cross Country via Birmingam New Street, be quietest: Thursday evening or Friday morning? So I wish to purchase a Wii for a Christmas gift. However, there are problems. Taking up residence in front of Zellers might not be an option, and I don't think I have the necessary funds to negotiate a purchase on eBay, with the scarcity premiums and the "Giant expensive package" traps. I live in Canada, and thus the WiiFinder sites I've found cannot seem to help me. Is there anything I can do to acquire a Wii, or do I have to wait until they can actually be purhchased like any regular consumer product? [more inside]

U.K. Christmas

As a child, I was an American expat, growing up in Scotland. This time of year I have many fond memories of Christmas Pantomines, Christmas Pudding, Paper Crowns & Crackers, 'Cadbury's Christmas Selection Boxes,' etc.' I also remember getting copies of year-end "annuals," particularly the 'Beano Annual' and the 'Blue Peter Annual.' There were many others, but I am at a loss for remembering their titles. What are/were some of the others published at Christmastime?

O Holy Album

I've fallen in love with this rendition of "O Holy Night"[MP3] from last week's episode of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Now I want a whole Christmas album in that style - either already made or individual songs to make a mix. Any recommendations? I particularly like how the song is still totally recognizable and pleasant, despite having lots of soul to it and cool improvisations. Thanks!
