I just heard a recognizable piece of music at a Christmas event, but can't name it.

Show me a link to your favorite, male, solo (as in, no groups) rendition of "O Holy Night". Acapella is good too.

I'm putting together a holiday play list for the office pot luck and, trying to make it fun and all inclusive. I've got tunes from Peanuts to Springsteen to the Arrogant Worms. I'm in need of more Hanukkah (got the Adam Sandler one, thx.) and desperately in need of some music for the woman organizing as she's Islamic (and for the record has a wicked sense of humor). Ideas?

Christmas carols for pagans? Mentions of Yuletide, Solstice and winter are excellent, Santa is fine, Christmas is fine, but I'm looking for beautiful music (choral and orchestral) that has no mention of Jesus Christ, Israel or saints.

I recently saw a video that makes me want to create a playlist of unusual/surreal Christmas music. That is to say, odd pairings or covers of classic Christmas songs. I have a small set of criteria inside. What do you got?

We are having some visiting Serbian friends over for a late (by our standards) Christmas meal in a few days. They will literally be on the other side of the world in New Zealand at this time. I'd like to play some Serbian Christmas music that they would enjoy, music that says "Christmas" to them, especially so far from home. I understand that the actual Serbian Christmas is not until January 7th, but I'd like to play music that lets them know we have gone to some trouble to help them enjoy Christmas. Any recommendations, especially those accessible via iTunes or YouTube, would be most welcome.

I've Googled these fun treats till exhausted so many times and they seem to have truly been discontinued. (frowny face). I've found a couple of singles on eBAY but that's not gonna do it. I am looking for Christmas music that is mostly melancholy, and often about loss or abandonment. Think Joni Mitchell's the River or Tom Waite's Christmas Card from A Hooker in Minneapolis. Any suggestions?

I used to send out a Christmas CD with holiday songs and clips from Movies and TV shows. It took a month to master and rip the CDs and 100 bucks in postage. What's a way to do this online instead? Is there somewhere I can POST a Christmas CD so people can listen online and download it if they want?

Some time ago either on MeFi or BoingBoing there was a link to a bunch of songs that I *swear* were Christmas songs played in the wrong key or one half-tone down or something... Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about and where I could find this (again)?

A friend has spent over ten years trying to locate a version of the song "The Little Drummer Boy" that he listened to as a child. What he remembers is that it was performed by a young boy (or, possibly, a girl) and that while there may have been other singers on the track, it definitely wasn't a choir version. This ring a bell for anyone?

I am looking for a specific Christmas album on Capitol Records, called "Christmas in the Phillipines" or "Pasko Sa Pilipinas", which is understandably a very generic title. The record I'm thinking of has the song "Pasko Sa Manila" by the Roque Sisters.

My aunt's family has been listening to the same Christmas tape (as in, the same physical tape) repeatedly for about 25 years. The tape was originally made by dubbing from vinyl. I'd like, as a gift, to remaster the whole thing, but I need help identifying all the song versions.

I've fallen in love with
this rendition of "O Holy Night"[MP3] from last week's episode of
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Now I want a whole Christmas album in that style - either already made or individual songs to make a mix. Any recommendations? I particularly like how the song is still totally recognizable and pleasant, despite having lots of soul to it and cool improvisations. Thanks!

Elvis Costello fans, does anyone know the name of the following song? All I can remember (very vaguely) is that it's by Elvis & that the lyrics reference a closet upstairs where it's always Christmas, or something very similar to that.
