What to do in Montreal on Christmas Night?

Hello All, My husband and I will be traveling to Montreal for the Christmas Holiday. We will be arriving on Christmas night and leaving New Years Day. As a traveler I tend to want to live as a local when visiting another city/country. And one of my favorite things to do on Christmas Night is drink cheap beers in a dive bar. As such, I was hoping that someone might be able to tell me if there are any good dive bars in Montreal that will be open on Christmas Night that would be good for libations and merriment. We will be staying in the Mile End Neighborhood of Montreal. Thanks and Cheers!

What are some cool things to do with a 3D "printer pen"?

I'm helping buy a 3d printer pen (sort of like this) for my niece for Christmas. I feel like suggesting some cool stuff that she can do with her 3d pen. There are lots of guides for cool stuff you can do with a 3d printer, like this one. Are there any similar guides exploring the possibilities for a 3D pen?

White Christmas Album

I just learned that in 2006, Steven Colbert challenged his fans to mash up Beatles songs with Christmas songs. I found a couple on YouTube, but can see that there was once a site with a whole collection of the mashups, titled the "White Christmas Album." All the links for it that I've Googled seem to be dead or otherwise sketchy. Can anyone point me to a source to download the collection? Thanks!

Office Christmas gifts - is separate but equal okay?

I want to give the same Christmas gift to two of my team members, and a different gift to the third. Plus, the gift would be a rerun for one of the two, as it would replace the same item I gave her previously, which got broken. Should I do this, or move on to a different gift idea entirely? If I can't get the shoes, how about a nice um-ber-ella?

For Christmas my wife is interested in a pair of the upcoming Puma by Rihanna velvet creepers. I know that the previous releases in this line have sold out in hours. Now that it has been named Shoe of the Year and this release is dropping in primo holiday shopping season (December 8th) I assume this new set will be even harder to get. My questions are (1) How can I increase my chances of snagging a pair of these shoes online as part of the official sale? and (2) If strategy (1) fails, are there sneakerhead resellers where I can buy a pair after the fact for not too much of a premium on the purchase price? Is there such a thing as a science kit for adults?

I want to get my girlfriend something crafty or hands-on for Christmas. I know she has a secret fascination with geology, and we've talked about how she wishes she'd been able to play with science kits when she was a kid. So I really want to get her a science kit now, ideally something geology-related, but is it possible to get one that's maybe one a little more engaging for a woman in her 30s? [more inside]

Where can you find motion dolls and angels for Christmas?

They used to have motion dolls years ago......like angles, and carolers, who moved back and forth holding candles, and some lit up and some played music. Holiday/New Year's quotes for holiday cards

I'm planning my holiday cards, which I make myself every year. I'm not feeling particularly cheery or optimistic about the world right now, and none of the rubber stamps with short messages (Happy Holidays!, Merry and Bright!, etc.) that I have are really grabbing me. two turtle doves, and a raaaat in a christmas tree

we live in the woods in northern california and want to decorate a large pine tree for christmas which currently lives about 15 feet from our front door. it will be staying where it is; we want to add some natural-ish decorations which could maybe feed the several species of birds that live around us. how festive. however, this being the country, we also have wood rats aplenty. the last thing i want to see on christmas morning is our tree filled with rats. is there a way to feed the birds without encouraging rats? or should we just dress the rats as soldiers and recreate the nutcracker suite in our front yard?

Eating in Paris at Christmas

I'm spending the week from Christmas Eve to New Years Eve in Paris. I'm curious what to expect as far as things (restaurants, shops, etc.) being closed. Our general plan is to wander around and look at stuff and be in Paris. I don't mind losing a day to formal sightseeing on Christmas Day itself; in fact I'm kind of looking forward to the quiet. I'm a little worried about food, though, especially because we arrive (via train from Munich) at noon on Christmas Eve. [more inside]

Help Me Identify The Female Vocalist On This CD

Somehow, Googling all Winter holidays does not help...

YouTube Filter: Help me remember a (popular?) YouTube video of yesteryear, that I watched in the mid-late 2000s! The video was ripped from a "local" style commercial/infomercial around "the Holidays" (e.g., Christmas, Hanukkah, et cetera). A crazed, totally bald man wished the audience a great [insert every western Winter holiday here]. He spoke in very intense, stilted speech: "MERRY. CHRIST. MAS." At one point, he just sings, "Kwanzaaaaaa!" It ends with him and his family wishing the audience a "Happy Holidays from [whatever business]!" ... He may have ran a car dealership? [more inside]
