My friend and I are planning a one-way road trip from Denver, CO to Rochester, NY this June. The catch? We would like to complete it in around 7 days. I'm looking for your insight on how to make the most of the cities along our route in a limited amount of time (probably about 5 hours of exploring), suggestions for a better route, or general road trip advice.

Road trip! My wife and I are taking our two kids on our first real road trip, from the mid-Atlantic to the Midwest. I’d like advice on routes, activities, and must-see stops along the way. Lots of details and specific questions after the jump.

Driving between Cleveland and Milwaukee with a day to spare; any ideas about interesting things to see? Not that interested in Cedar Point. Leaving the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to go to Alpine Valley Music Theater for Pearl Jam's 20 Anniversary concert, if that context will help. Like national parks along with man made attractions.

Do you have any suggestions on places we should check out or places we should stay away from?

[Chicago Filter] My just-turned-18-about-to-go-to-college cousin from Florida is taking a road trip with two of his buddies across the country, and will be visiting me here in Chicago for about 24 hours on (probably) August 3 and 4th. Where should I take them so as to cement my place as the cool one in the family?

Is taking a roadtrip through the midwest over a couple weeks during the winter (around the holidays) a horrible idea? Tentative idea is Detroit to Tulsa via a bunch of stops to see things/cities/people. Tentative route - Detroit to Fargo via I-94 (via Chicago, Milwaukee, St Paul), Fargo to Kansas City via I-29 (via S. Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska) and then down to Tulsa.

We are traveling from Chicago to Columbus, OH next week and to keep things interesting we'll have our 15-month-old in the back seat. I'm wondering if people who have made this drive have advice in terms of routing, avoiding traffic tie-ups and stopping points.

I'm getting married in October, and our honeymoon is a long leisurely drive up to Massachusetts. We know we'll be stopping at Niagara Falls for one night, but are there any other places we should stop and see, weird roadside attractions, etc? We've already been to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland...any roads less traveled to consider?
